The 2026 Chery Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid Urban is a practical seven-seat plug-in hybrid SUV that suits families wanting low running costs (around $1220 annually) and genuine electric capability, with its 95-kilometre EV range covering most daily commutes without firing the 1.5-litre petrol engine. Its standout strength is the combination of frugal fuel consumption at 1.3 litres per 100 kilometres and 150kW of power, delivering real-world efficiency gains that traditional hybrids can't match. One key consideration is that at 1884 kilograms and with front-wheel drive, the Tiggo 8 may feel less agile than some rivals, though its 2000-kilogram towing capacity and 5-star ANCAP safety rating provide solid family credentials.

Its standout strength is exceptional fuel efficiency at 1.3L/100km combined, delivering impressive value alongside a 5-star ANCAP safety rating and seven-year warranty. One consideration: the 550-litre boot shrinks with seven seats in use, so check it suits your cargo needs before committing, particularly if regularly carrying passengers and luggage.
