Yes. The comparison tool, all 9,900+ car records, every article, every guide and the driveaway calculator are free. We charge only for optional pro reports that aggregate the same data into a downloadable PDF for a specific head-to-head. The free site always stays free.

The makers' Australian documents, ANCAP, the Green Vehicle Guide and the vehicle recalls register; resale figures are labelled estimates. See Data Sources for the full list and Methodology for how the CarSorted Score works.

Cars are ranked by an algorithm from each car's own record, and those figures are checked against the maker's Australian documents. We don't accept payment to change a car's ranking or a verdict. CarSorted is free to use; we cover costs through optional paid pro reports and may earn from clearly labelled deals or partnerships, which never affect our rankings or reviews.

Prices, variants and new models are updated as the makers publish them, and ANCAP ratings as ANCAP publishes them. Each car page shows when its specs and price were last checked.

Email support@carsorted.ai with the car ID (from the URL, e.g. /directory/1432), the field, and the correct value with a manufacturer-source link. We patch most corrections within 24 hours.

You need at least two cars in the compare dock to run a head-to-head. Click "+ Compare" on any directory tile, or use the "Add a Car" search in the hero, to add one. Max 4 cars in a single comparison.

A car is shown as discontinued when the maker no longer sells it new. If you see one mis-flagged, email us the car ID and we will check it with the maker.

CarSorted covers cars sold new in Australia since 2010, including discontinued models, as research. We're a comparison and editorial site rather than a classifieds marketplace, so for actual used car listings we point readers to dedicated marketplace sites like Carsales and Drive.

Victoria by default. Stamp duty rules vary by state, so every driveaway estimate on the site is a VIC calculation today. A state selector is on the roadmap.

Open any two-car comparison and scroll to the True Cost of Ownership chart. It includes fuel/electricity, insurance, servicing, tyres and registration, projected over 1, 3 or 5 years. Our methodology is public.

A 0-100 score combining seven axes: safety, reliability, technology, fuel economy, value for money, performance, and practicality. Each is calculated from the car's own record, not editorial opinion. More on the Methodology page.

Yes, for legitimate Australian dealers. Email support@carsorted.ai with your dealership name, location and stock size. No dealer can pay to change a car's data, score or ranking.
