It runs a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine producing 77kW and 175Nm through a 6-speed manual, with combined fuel consumption of 5.4L/100km and CO2 emissions of 125g/km. Standard safety includes ESC with hill hold, ABS, six airbags and ISOFIX anchorage points. It is the only Rapid Spaceback combination offered with a manual gearbox. The 2014 Skoda Rapid Spaceback Ambition 77TSI Manual was the entry point to Skoda Australia's small hatch, launched here in May 2014 at $18,990 list price. It runs a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol four making 77kW at 5,000rpm and 175Nm from 1,550rpm, driving the front wheels through a six-speed manual, and Skoda quotes 5.4L/100km combined on ADR 81/02 with 125g/km of CO2. Despite the Spaceback name it is a conventional five-door hatch at 4,304mm long on a 2,602mm wheelbase, with 384 litres of boot space that opens out to 1,349 litres with the rear seats down, and a light 1,155kg tare mass. Standard kit ran to six airbags, stability control with hill hold, cruise control, air conditioning, Bluetooth with audio streaming, a six-speaker Swing radio and a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel on 16-inch Dione alloys. Rear parking sensors, an alarm, 17-inch Camelot alloys and the Sports and Style packs were all extra-cost options. Skoda covered it with three years and unlimited kilometres of warranty plus capped price servicing over the first six visits.

The Skoda Rapid Spaceback Ambition 90TSI DSG pairs a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine (90kW/200Nm) with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic, per SKODA Australia's own MY15 Rapid brochure and pricing sheet. Combined fuel consumption is 6.0L/100km with CO2 at 139g/km, and 0-100km/h takes 9.4 seconds. It shares the Ambition grade's equipment -- plain air conditioning, 16-inch alloy wheels, graphite décor stripe -- with the manual. The Rapid Spaceback has since been discontinued in Australia (replaced by the Scala); this listing is retained for reference against SKODA's archived brochure.

The 2014 Skoda Rapid Spaceback Ambition 90TSI DSG paired the entry Ambition equipment grade with Skoda's 1.4-litre turbo petrol and a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch, listing at $21,890 before on-road costs. Power is 90kW at 5,000rpm with 200Nm from 1,500rpm, good for 9.4 seconds to 100km/h and a 203km/h top speed, and Skoda quotes 6.0L/100km combined on ADR 81/02 with 139g/km of CO2. The body is the same 4,304mm five-door Spaceback hatch as the manual car, with 384 litres of boot growing to 1,349 litres seats down, though the DSG adds weight at 1,210kg tare. Equipment mirrors the 77TSI Ambition: six airbags, stability control with hill hold, cruise control, air conditioning, Bluetooth streaming, a six-speaker Swing radio, leather steering wheel and gear knob, and 16-inch Dione alloys. Rear parking sensors at $640 and an alarm at $360 were the notable stand-alone options, with the Sports and Style packs offered on top.

The Skoda Rapid Spaceback Elegance 90TSI DSG is the range-topping grade, pairing the same 1.4-litre 90kW/200Nm turbo petrol engine and 7-speed DSG as the Ambition DSG with standard climate control air-conditioning, height-adjustable front seats, front fog lights, automatic Light Assist headlights with rain sensor, rear parking sensors, privacy glass and 17-inch alloy wheels, per SKODA Australia's own MY15 Rapid brochure. Combined fuel consumption is 6.0L/100km with CO2 at 139g/km. It is DSG-automatic only -- SKODA's pricing sheet shows no manual Elegance was ever offered. The Rapid Spaceback has since been discontinued in Australia (replaced by the Scala); this listing is retained for reference against SKODA's archived brochure.

The 2014 Skoda Rapid Spaceback Elegance 90TSI DSG topped the Australian Rapid range at $23,750 list price, and it was the only way to get the Elegance trim here because Skoda's own price lists show the Elegance 77TSI manual was never actually offered. Mechanically it matches the Ambition 90TSI: a 1.4-litre turbo petrol with 90kW and 200Nm, a seven-speed DSG, 9.4 seconds to 100km/h and 6.0L/100km combined on ADR 81/02. What the extra money bought was equipment. The Elegance adds Climatronic climate control air conditioning, front fog lights with a cornering function, Light Assist with rain-sensing wipers, privacy glass, rear parking sensors, a height-adjustable passenger seat, chrome air vent surrounds and 17-inch Camelot alloys on 215/40 tyres. Practicality is unchanged, with 384 litres of boot space and 1,349 litres seats down inside a 4,304mm body. Skoda covered it with three years and unlimited kilometres of warranty.

The 2019 Skoda Rapid Spaceback 92TSI DSG was the last model year of the Rapid in Australia, and Skoda Australia's MY19 price list carried a single Rapid grade, this one. The 1.4-litre turbo petrol made 92kW and 200Nm through a seven-speed DSG, with 5.0L/100km combined and 118g/km. The MY19 update brought DAB+ digital radio into the 6.5-inch Swing touchscreen, a sports flat-bottom steering wheel and 17-inch Blade black alloy wheels. Skoda Australia's MY19 standard equipment list ran to six airbags, stability control with ABS, EBD, traction control and hill hold, front fog lights, cruise control, air-conditioning, six Arkamys speakers, power-adjustable heated mirrors, a split-folding rear seat and a multi-function trip computer. Front Assist with City Emergency Brake, a reversing camera and rear parking sensors were also fitted. It was only ever advertised at a national drive-away price, $24,990, with no list price published. Skoda Australia did not publish dimensions, weights or a boot volume for the MY19 car, so those are not shown here, and the Rapid left the Australian line-up between 27 May and 22 June 2020.

The 2018 Skoda Rapid Spaceback 92TSI DSG was the facelifted Rapid, and by then Skoda Australia had cut the range to a single grade and dropped the Spaceback word from its marketing name, though the car underneath was the same NH1 five-door hatch. It uses a 1.4-litre turbo petrol with 92kW and 200Nm from 1,400rpm through a seven-speed DSG, with stop-start and brake energy recuperation bringing combined fuel use down to 5.0L/100km on ADR 81/02. The facelift is where the safety kit arrived: Front Assist with City Emergency Brake, a reversing camera, rear parking sensors and tyre pressure monitoring all became standard alongside six airbags and stability control. Inside there is a 6.5-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six-speaker Skoda Surround Sound, privacy glass and 17-inch Savio alloys. Skoda backed it with five years and unlimited kilometres of warranty. The Rapid left the Australian line-up between late May and late June 2020.
