This is an upcoming model and has not launched in Australia yet. The specifications below are based on the manufacturer's overseas catalogue, are unconfirmed, and are subject to change until Deepal confirms Australian pricing and specification. The Deepal S05 REEV is the range-extender version of Deepal's upcoming mid-size electric SUV. It drives on its electric motor (around 159kW and 320Nm, rear-wheel drive) with a petrol engine acting purely as an on-board generator, giving more than 160km of electric-only range and up to 900km combined, so there is no range anxiety and no need to ever plug in on a road trip. At 4,620mm long with a 2,880mm wheelbase it is a genuine family SUV, with a panoramic sunroof, frameless doors, leather heated-and-ventilated seats, wireless charging and a large central touchscreen. It is expected to join the Deepal S07 and E07 in Australia and rival the BYD Sealion 6, Geely Starray EM-i and Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.

The Deepal S05 EV is the pure-electric version of Deepal's upcoming mid-size SUV. A single rear-mounted motor makes around 172kW and 320Nm for a 0-100km/h time under 7.5 seconds, with a claimed WLTP range of more than 460km and DC fast charging from 30 to 80 per cent in around 15 minutes. The EV adds a 14-speaker sound system with subwoofer and multi-colour ambient lighting over the REEV, on top of the shared panoramic sunroof, frameless doors and leather heated-and-ventilated seats. Expected to join the Deepal S07 and E07 in Australia, it will rival the BYD Atto 3, Tesla Model Y, Kia EV5 and XPeng G6.
