The Honda Civic Type R is the sharp end of Honda's small-car range, a front-wheel-drive hot hatch built around a 2.0-litre turbo VTEC four making 235kW and 420Nm through a slick six-speed manual with rev-matching. Honda quotes a 0-100km/h time of 5.4 seconds, and a helical limited-slip diff plus dual-axis front struts keep the power tidy through corners. Inside you get suede-style racing seats, a 10.2-inch digital display with shift lights, and the LogR data-logging app for track days. Honda Australia sells it drive-away for around $85,000 on a fixed, non-negotiable price, and stock is limited. Worth noting it carries no ANCAP rating, as the Type R is specifically excluded from the standard Civic's assessment. Figures here are from Honda Australia, not a road test.
