The Grecale GT is the entry point to Maserati's mid-size SUV range at $114,900 list. It uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol with a 48V mild-hybrid system producing 221kW and 450Nm, paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic and all-wheel drive. Underpinned by a stretched version of Alfa Romeo Stelvio's Giorgio platform, the Grecale shares its body-on-frame credentials with the Stelvio Quadrifoglio but adds proper Maserati interior craftsmanship: Sonus Faber audio, dual touchscreens and acres of leather. 0-100km/h takes 5.6 seconds. ANCAP 5-star (2022). The catch is the 3-year/100,000km warranty, well behind the segment's 5-year-plus norms.

The Grecale Folgore is Maserati's first full-electric SUV at $207,500 list. Dual permanent-magnet electric motors deliver 410kW and 820Nm with a 105kWh battery providing 426km of WLTP range. 0-100km/h takes 4.1 seconds. DC fast-charging at up to 150kW. Folgore (Italian for 'lightning') is Maserati's EV sub-brand, also applied to the GranTurismo and forthcoming Quattroporte. Compared to a Porsche Macan EV ($133,800-$185,400) the Folgore costs more but offers significantly more torque, the trident badge and a more lavishly trimmed cabin. ANCAP 5-star and 3-year/100,000km warranty (8-year battery warranty separate).
