The 2022 Renault Megane R.S. Trophy EDC is the dual-clutch automatic version, and the brochure gives it more torque than the manual - 420Nm at 3,200rpm against 400Nm - on the same 221kW at 6,000rpm from the 1,798cc turbo four. It matches the manual's 5.7-second 0-100km/h claim and undercuts it on consumption at 8.0L/100km and 182g/km CO2, despite carrying 23kg more at a 1,443kg kerb weight. The EDC alone gets steering-column paddle shifters, launch control, Renault's multi-downshift function and an electric parking brake with auto hold in place of the manual's handbrake. Everything else is common Trophy: Cup chassis with four hydraulic compression stops, 4CONTROL four-wheel steering, a mechanical Torsen limited-slip differential, red Brembo calipers on 355mm front discs, 19-inch Jerez alloys, an active valve exhaust, R.S. Alcantara trim with heated sports seats, a 9.3-inch portrait touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital cluster and a nine-speaker BOSE system.
Configure the Trophy EDC AutoThe 2022 Renault Megane R.S. Trophy manual is the six-speed version of Renault Sport's front-drive hot hatch as Renault Australia's MY22 brochure specified it. A 1,798cc 1.8-litre turbo four makes 221kW at 6,000rpm and 400Nm at 3,200rpm on 98 RON, driving the front wheels through a mechanical Torsen limited-slip differential, and 0-100km/h takes 5.7 seconds. The Cup chassis with four hydraulic compression stops, 4CONTROL four-wheel steering, 355 x 28mm ventilated front discs with red Brembo calipers and 19-inch Jerez alloys on Bridgestone Potenza S001 245/35 R19 tyres make up the hardware. Inside it is R.S. black and red embroidered Alcantara with red and grey contrast stitching, heated sports seats, a 9.3-inch portrait touchscreen, a fully digital 10.25-inch instrument display, satellite navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a nine-speaker BOSE system with subwoofer. Renault certifies 8.3L/100km combined and 187g/km CO2 to ADR 81/02 from a 50-litre tank, at a 1,420kg kerb weight.
