The 2010 SsangYong Rexton RX270 XDi automatic pairs the Y250 Rexton's 2.7-litre five-cylinder turbo-diesel (121kW at 4,000rpm, 340Nm at 1,800rpm) with a five-speed T-Tronic automatic that has steering-wheel sports shift. The auto was an option on the XDi and carries its own figures in SsangYong Australia's May 2010 specifications: 9.8 L/100km and 260g/km on the ADR 81/01 combined cycle, and a 2,101kg kerb weight against a 2,760kg GVM. Like the manual it is a seven-seat ladder-frame wagon with Smart Torque On Demand part-time 4WD and a 2.48:1 low range, 2,300kg braked towing, 18-inch alloys, climate control with a ducted rear zone, ESP, hill descent control, roll-over protection and front and side airbags for the front seats. Choosing the automatic also brings cruise control, which the brochure lists for automatics only. A sunroof and leather trim were extra-cost XDi options. No price survives in SsangYong's own documents for this year, so none is stored.
Configure the RX270 XDi AutomaticThe 2014 SsangYong Rexton SX is the single-grade, 2.0-litre Rexton that SsangYong Automotive Australia listed from 17 June 2014, replacing the earlier 2.7-litre five-cylinder line-up. Its Euro 5 four-cylinder diesel makes 115kW at 4,000rpm and 360Nm from 1,500 to 2,800rpm, driving through an automatic and a selectable 4WD system with high and low range. SsangYong quotes 7.8 L/100km combined (9.9 urban, 6.7 extra-urban) and 206g/km of CO2, with a 78-litre tank. The ladder-frame wagon is 4,755mm long on a 2,835mm wheelbase, weighs 1,985kg at the kerb against a 2,710kg GVM and tows 2,600kg braked. Listed equipment includes leather-appointed seats with an eight-way power driver's seat and three-position memory, a third-row seat for two, front and rear air conditioning with third-row controls, cruise control, Bluetooth with audio streaming, six speakers, front and rear parking sensors, ESC, roll-over protection, hill descent control, ISOFIX and front and side airbags for the front seats.
