The Citroen DS 3 DSport was the sole hatch grade in Citroen Australia's MY2015 DS 3 range, powered by a 1.6-litre THP turbo-petrol producing 121kW/240Nm through a six-speed manual. Citroen's MY15 spec sheet claims 5.6L/100km combined and 129g/km CO2, a 285-litre VDA boot and a 7.5-second 0-100km/h. Standard equipment across the single grade included full-LED xenon headlights, a reversing camera, Active City Brake (low-speed AEB), automatic climate control, Bluetooth with satellite navigation, and a 6-year unlimited-kilometre warranty with 6-year capped-price servicing.
Configure the DSportThe Citroen DS 3 Cabrio DSport was the convertible body of Citroen's MY2015 DS 3 range, with a three-position electric fabric roof that opens in 16 seconds at speeds up to 120km/h. It shares the hatch's 1.6-litre THP turbo-petrol and six-speed manual, printed here at 115kW/240Nm (against the hatch's 121kW). Citroen's MY15 spec sheet claims the same 5.6L/100km combined economy as the hatch, with a smaller 245-litre boot and a heavier 1165kg kerb weight reflecting the folding-roof mechanism. Standard equipment matched the hatch, plus rear parking sensors; only the roof's Bleu Infini and Vert Emeraude fabric colours were a factory-fitted option over the standard Noir Onyx.
Configure the Cabrio DSportThe 2013 Citroen DS3 DStyle was the automatic half of a two car Australian range, and the one aimed at buyers who wanted the styling without the hot hatch. Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 1.6 litre four cylinder making 88kW, tied to a four speed automatic, which is what gives it a 10.9 second 0 to 100km/h time and a combined 7.0L/100km. It rides on 16 inch alloys with 195/55 R16 tyres, gets automatic air conditioning, cruise control with a speed limiter, Bluetooth with a USB socket, six speakers and a six airbag safety package, and it keeps the 285-litre boot and 60/40 split rear seat of the range. Satellite navigation with a seven speaker hi-fi was the headline option. Citroen Australia sold the DS3 here from September 2010 and it has long since been replaced, so this is a used buy.
Configure the DStyleThe DSport was the quick one. Citroen Australia gave the 2013 DS3 DSport a turbocharged 1.6 litre four making 115kW and 240Nm from just 1400rpm, and paired it only with a six speed manual, which gets it to 100km/h in 7.3 seconds and on to 214km/h. It is also the more economical of the two, at 6.0L/100km combined, helped by a gear efficiency indicator that the automatic does not get. Standard equipment runs to 17 inch black Bellone alloys, sport suspension, a carbon fibre effect dashboard, a sports rear spoiler, twin chrome exhaust tips and eMyWay satellite navigation with a seven speaker hi fi and subwoofer. Practicality is unchanged from the DStyle: a 285-litre boot, five seats and a 50 litre tank.
Configure the DSportThe DS3 Cabrio was not a full convertible. Citroen kept the hatch's doors, pillars and roof rails and replaced the panel between them with a three position folding fabric roof, so the car keeps its structure and its rear glass window. The 2013 Cabrio DStyle uses the same 88kW 1.6 litre and four speed automatic as the hatch, and Citroen quotes 10.4 seconds to 100km/h and 6.7L/100km combined. The extra roof mechanism costs it boot space, down to 245 litres from the hatch's 285, and 44kg of kerb weight. Rear parking sensors are standard here where the hatch charged for them, and a pop up wind diffuser is fitted. The Noir Onyx roof is standard, with Bleu Infini optional.
Configure the Cabrio DStyleThe 2013 DS3 Cabrio DSport put the 115kW turbo and the six speed manual under the folding roof. Citroen quotes 7.4 seconds to 100km/h, a 212km/h top speed and 5.9L/100km combined, which makes it the most economical DS3 Citroen Australia listed that year. It carries 17 inch black Bellone alloys, sport suspension, a carbon fibre effect dashboard, a gear efficiency indicator and eMyWay satellite navigation with a seven speaker hi fi and subwoofer as standard, plus the rear parking sensors that were an option on the hatch. Roof choices ran to Noir Onyx as standard with Bleu Infini or a DS Monogram pattern optional, the last of which brought its own Gris Moondust wheels.
Configure the Cabrio DSportCitroen Australia launched the DS3 in September 2010 with two cars, and the DStyle was the automatic one: an 88kW 1.6 litre petrol four with a four speed automatic, sold alongside the turbocharged manual DSport. Australia's Green Vehicle Guide certifies this version at 6.9L/100km combined with 158g/km of CO2 to the Euro 5 standard. Citroen's own launch release describes five seats, a 285-litre boot, standard stability control, ABS with EBD and emergency brake assist and six airbags, with USB, Bluetooth and an eight speaker hi fi all on the options list. Citroen Australia's specification sheet for this model year has not survived, so there are no weights, dimensions or towing figures here rather than borrowed ones.
Configure the DStyleThe DSport was the sharp end of the DS3 range Citroen Australia launched in September 2010: a turbocharged 1.6 litre four making 115kW, sold only with a six speed manual. Australia's Green Vehicle Guide certifies it at 6.7L/100km combined with 155g/km of CO2 to Euro 5, which is better than the automatic DStyle despite the extra power. Citroen's launch release confirms a gear efficiency indicator as standard on the 115kW car, along with five seats, a 285-litre boot, stability control, ABS with EBD and emergency brake assist and six airbags. Citroen Australia's specification sheet for this model year has not survived, so weights, dimensions and towing figures are absent rather than borrowed from a later year.
