The 2024 Jeep Compass Limited e-Hybrid is the entry to the small-SUV Compass lineup in Australia. It pairs a 1.5-litre turbo petrol four with a 15kW 48V mild-hybrid motor and a 7-speed dual-clutch auto, sending 96kW and 240Nm to the front wheels for 5.1L/100km combined. Standard kit is generous for the segment: 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, 10.25-inch digital cluster, 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, dual-zone climate, wireless charging, heated front seats and heated steering wheel, plus six airbags. The Limited rides on 18-inch wheels with cloth and TechnoLeather trim. Trade-offs: it's front-wheel drive only, the dual-clutch can be lurchy at low speeds, and the mild-hybrid system can't drive on electricity alone, so this is really a fuel-efficient petrol rather than a true hybrid. For buyers cross-shopping a Hyundai Kona Hybrid or a Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, the Compass offers more European character but less of an EV experience.

The 2024 Jeep Compass Summit e-Hybrid is the top trim of the petrol mild-hybrid Compass lineup. It uses the same 1.5-litre turbo + 48V 15kW motor + 7-speed dual-clutch FWD set-up as the Limited (96kW, 240Nm, 5.1L/100km combined, 0-100km/h in 10.0 seconds), but adds the kit you'd expect at the top of the range: 19-inch wheels, leather-accented seats with ventilation and heating, a dual-pane sunroof, hands-free power tailgate, premium LED projector headlights, highway-assist semi-autonomous driving, satellite navigation, and rear privacy glass. The active-safety set is the same as the Limited (AEB with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot, lane-keep, adaptive cruise, traffic-sign recognition, 360-degree camera). Compromises: it's still FWD only, the dual-clutch transmission is unchanged, and the mild-hybrid layout means no electric-only driving. Buyers comparing the Compass Summit e-Hybrid against a Kia Seltos GT-Line or a Mazda CX-30 X20 Astina are choosing it for the European cabin feel and Jeep badge rather than outright efficiency.

The 2024 Jeep Compass Limited 4xe is the plug-in hybrid AWD version of Jeep's small SUV. The 1.3-litre turbo petrol drives the front wheels, a 44kW electric motor drives the rear axle, and a 11.4kWh battery delivers up to 47km of WLTP electric-only range. Combined system output is 132kW, 0-100km/h takes 7.3 seconds, and Jeep quotes 2.1L/100km combined (47g/km CO2) on the WLTP test. The 4xe drops to the Limited spec list (18-inch wheels, cloth and TechnoLeather seats, 10.1-inch touchscreen, 360 camera, adaptive cruise, full active safety) but adds a 7.4kW onboard AC charger and a separate 8-year/160,000km battery warranty. Catches to know: AC charging only (no DC fast charging), braked towing drops to 1,250kg, and the boot loses a small amount of space to the high-voltage battery. If you cross-shop the Cupra Formentor 1.5 e-HYBRID or the BYD Atto 3 BEV, the Compass 4xe is the one that lets you do short commutes on battery and longer trips on petrol without range anxiety.

The 2024 Jeep Compass Summit 4xe combines the brand's plug-in hybrid AWD drivetrain with the top trim of the Compass lineup. The 1.3-litre turbo petrol drives the front axle while a 44kW rear electric motor delivers true on-demand AWD, with a combined 132kW system output, 47km of WLTP electric range, 7.3-second 0-100km/h time, and 2.1L/100km combined (47g/km CO2). The Summit-specific kit adds 19-inch wheels, leather-accented seats with heating and ventilation, a dual-pane sunroof, hands-free power tailgate, LED projector headlights, premium audio, highway-assist driving, and rear privacy glass to the Limited 4xe base. Battery has an 8-year/160,000km warranty, the 7.4kW onboard AC charger fills it in about 1.6 hours from a wallbox. The trade-offs are the same as the Limited 4xe: AC charging only, 1,250kg braked towing, slight boot compromise. It's the most complete Compass on sale in Australia, and the natural cross-shop is a Cupra Formentor VZe or a base BMW X1 plug-in hybrid.
