The 2026 Toyota HiAce LWB Van is a rear-wheel-drive diesel workhorse designed for tradies and small businesses needing serious cargo capacity, with its 6200-litre boot and 2000kg towing capability making light work of heavy loads. Its standout strength is the combination of a frugal 2.8-litre diesel engine (130kW/420Nm) paired with a manual transmission that delivers reasonable fuel economy at 7.4L/100km, keeping running costs around $2946 annually. Keep in mind that with only 2 seats and a 4-star ANCAP rating (rather than 5-star), this is purely a commercial tool rather than a family hauler, though Toyota's 5-year warranty provides solid peace of mind.

The 2026 Toyota HiAce LWB Van Auto is a pure work vehicle designed for tradies and small businesses needing maximum cargo space, with its cavernous 6200-litre boot and 2000kg towing capacity delivering serious hauling capability. The standout strength is Toyota's proven reliability combined with a frugal 2.8-litre diesel engine returning 7.8L/100km, keeping running costs down to around $3069 annually. One thing to consider: the 4-star ANCAP rating means it's acceptable for safety, but not top-tier, so it's best suited for experienced drivers on established work routes rather than high-speed highway work.

The 2026 Toyota HiAce LWB Crew Van Auto is a practical work vehicle designed for tradies and small business owners who need genuine payload capacity alongside passenger comfort, combining a spacious 6200-litre cargo area with five seats and respectable 2000kg towing capability. Its standout strength is proven reliability paired with Toyota's five-year warranty and reasonable running costs around $3069 annually, plus the 2.8-litre diesel's solid 450Nm torque makes it genuinely capable for heavy-duty work without constant gear-hunting thanks to the automatic transmission. Consider that its 4-star ANCAP safety rating, while acceptable, trails newer passenger vans-if maximum occupant protection is a priority, compare it against alternatives before committing.

# 2026 Toyota HiAce SLWB Van Auto The 2026 Toyota HiAce SLWB is a rear-wheel-drive diesel van designed for tradies and small business operators who need serious cargo space, offering a cavernous 6200-litre boot alongside a respectable 2000kg towing capacity. Its standout strength is the combination of frugal fuel consumption at 8.1L/100km and proven Toyota reliability backed by a five-year warranty, keeping running costs around $3161 annually. The main consideration is its modest 4-star ANCAP safety rating and two-seat configuration, which limits passenger versatility compared to crew cab alternatives if you regularly transport staff.

Skoda Scala Axed in Australia: MY26 Stock Is the Last of the Czech Hatch

Skoda Australia has confirmed the Scala will not carry into MY27, so remaining MY26 stock is the last shot at a new Czech-built small hatch here. The 85TSI Select stays at $33,990 driveaway with an 85kW 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo, 5.4 L/100km and a 10.1-second 0 to 100km/h. The 110TSI Monte Carlo holds at $45,990 driveaway with a 110kW 1.5-litre turbo, 5.2 L/100km and an 8.2-second sprint. Both are seven-speed DSG and front-wheel drive. Just 59 Scalas were registered YTD 2026, with two units in June alone, down 88 per cent for the month and 22.4 per cent for the year. Rivals in the small hatch bracket ran much stronger: Toyota Corolla 7,314, Kia K4 4,467 (up 67.7 per cent) and Mazda 3 4,080. The smaller Skoda Fabia continues into MY27, as do the Kamiq, Karoq, Kodiaq, Octavia and Superb, with the Elroq and Enyaq EVs incoming. Five-star ANCAP from 2019 still applies to Australian cars sold from February 2021 (97/87/81/76 pillar scores). Skoda's seven-year warranty and capped-price servicing carry over on the run-out cars.

2026 MINI Cooper S Oxford Edition Confirmed for Australia: Just 40 Cars, 20 Red, 20 Blue, Q4 Landing

MINI Australia locks in the Cooper S Oxford Edition special for a Q4 2026 arrival with a tiny 40-car allocation, split 20 Chilli Red II and 20 Indigo Sunset Blue. Every unit is a Cooper S three-door underneath, so 2.0L turbo petrol, 150kW and 300Nm through a seven-speed DCT to the front wheels, 6.6-second 0 to 100km/h and 242km/h top speed. New Zealand only gets eight cars for context. Union Jack on the contrast white roof, red and white centre stripe, white mirror caps and 18-inch Slide Spoke two-tone alloys with Union Jack centre caps. Interior picks up '25 years of modern MINI' door sill script, Union Jack driver's mat, chequered flag passenger mat and a Union Jack detail on the steering wheel spoke. Australian pricing not confirmed yet, expected to walk $1,500 to $3,000 over the $50,490 Cooper S Classic. ANCAP not yet rated on the F66 hatch. Where the Oxford sits versus the $41,290 VW Polo GTI, the $56,990 Toyota GR Yaris GTS auto and the $85,000 driveaway Honda Civic Type R, and why this one is a scarcity play, not a value play.
