Volkswagen's new-generation Transporter landed in Australia from late 2025, now built in Turkey on the same line as the Ford Transit Custom. The diesel opens the range with a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel making 125kW and 390Nm through an 8-speed auto, in short or long wheelbase with front-wheel drive or 4MOTION all-wheel drive, from $58,590 before on-road costs. Diesel payloads run up to about 1,062kg with 5.8 to 6.8 cubic metres of cargo space, and every model gets a 13-inch screen and a solid safety list. There is no ANCAP rating yet. Figures here are from Volkswagen Australia, not a road test.
Configure the TDI340 FWDThe VW e-Transporter is the fully electric version of Volkswagen's new-generation mid-size van, a first for the Transporter line. It pairs a 64kWh battery with a 210kW rear motor and claims roughly 320km of range, though that figure is derived from European data rather than a firm VW Australia number. It supports 125kW DC fast charging and can still tow a braked 2,300kg, with payload around 806kg. Priced from $83,590 before on-road costs, it is on sale now. There is no ANCAP rating. Figures here are from Volkswagen Australia and AU sources, not a road test.
