If you've looked at the Volkswagen ID.4 before and walked away because it had no built-in navigation, that gap is now closed. The model year 2027 update brings Volkswagen's newer infotainment, more driver assistance and a little more range, and the list price goes up with it.
The MY27 ID.4 is on sale now in two grades, the rear-drive Pro and the all-wheel-drive GTX. We compared Volkswagen Australia's MY27 brochure line by line with its August 2025 MY25.5 spec sheet, so everything below marked as new is new on Volkswagen's own paper.
2027 Volkswagen ID.4 Prices
| Grade | List price (before on-roads) | Campaign drive-away |
|---|---|---|
| Electric | ||
| ID.4 Pro (RWD) | $60,990 | $65,990 |
| ID.4 GTX (AWD) | $70,990 | $75,990 |
The list prices are from Volkswagen Australia's configurator for the 2027 model year. Both are $1,000 above the $59,990 and $69,990 we last recorded for the ID.4 in June. The drive-away figures are Volkswagen's campaign prices for cars in white, bought from 1 October 2026 and delivered by 31 December 2026, private buyers only, with metallic paint and options extra.
Worth knowing: Volkswagen's ID.4 page still shows an MY26 ID.4 Pro offer from $64,990 drive-away, $1,000 under the MY27 car. If you don't need the satellite navigation or the new driver aids, ask your dealer whether there's MY26 stock left.
What's Changed
The main change is inside. The MY25.5 car ran Volkswagen's Ready 2 Discover system with no satellite navigation; MY27 brings the Innovision system with navigation, on a 12.9-inch screen. The wireless phone charger is listed at up to 15W, the steering wheel is listed as leather where the MY25.5 sheet said leatherette, and paddles for regenerative braking appear on the MY27 list for the first time.

Three driver aids appear in the MY27 IQ.DRIVE list that weren't on the MY25.5 sheet: Front Cross Traffic Assist, Dynamic road sign display and a predictive speed limiter. Everything already there, including Travel Assist, Side Assist, Safe Exit Warning and the 360-degree Area View camera, carries over on both grades.

Safety
ANCAP rates the ID.4 at five stars, rating year 2021, and the rating expires in December 2028.
What This Means for Buyers
The update adds built-in navigation and three driver aids for $1,000 more at list than we last recorded. At $65,990 drive-away for the Pro, it sits in the same money as the cars it competes with for medium electric SUV buyers, so it's worth running it against the Tesla Model Y on the specs that matter to you, and checking the Model Y vs EV5 page for another rival in the same space.
Our ID.4 rows still show the earlier list prices and battery figures; the figures in this article are Volkswagen's MY27 ones. The rest of the range is on our Volkswagen page.
Disclaimer: Specifications and equipment are from Volkswagen Australia's MY27 ID.4 brochure (specifications as planned at April 2026) and its MY25.5 spec sheet (August 2025). List prices are from Volkswagen Australia's configurator for model year 2027 and exclude on-road costs. Drive-away prices are Volkswagen's campaign prices for cars in white purchased from 1 October 2026 and delivered by 31 December 2026, private buyers only. The $1,000 difference is against our own earlier record, not a Volkswagen figure. Details correct as at 16 October 2026.
