Key Takeaways

  • $47,990 MSRP, in one grade (the Signature), as Lepas Australia printed it on 16 October 2026
  • Lepas has not printed a drive-away total; its configurator estimates one once you enter a postcode
  • 160kW and 275Nm, front-wheel drive, 65kWh LFP battery, 440km WLTP
  • DC charging up to 120kW, 30 to 80 per cent in 22 minutes on a 120kW charger
  • 7-year unlimited km vehicle warranty, 8-year/200,000km battery warranty, 7-year capped price servicing
  • Test drives from early November; premium paint is free for a limited time with no end date printed

The number is in. Lepas Australia has put $47,990 on the L6, its first car here, and there is only one version to choose: one grade, one motor and one battery. Test drives are promised from early November. If you shortlisted the L6 when we wrote about it earlier, note that the battery and range have changed since that story, and we cover both below.

We have taken the L6 figures below from Lepas Australia's own news release, its L6 specification sheet and its configurator, and where Lepas doesn't print something we say so. The rival figures in the comparison table come from our own directory listings, and we label them as such. We haven't driven the L6, so nothing here is a verdict on how it feels on the road.

Source: Lepas Australia news release (16 October 2026) and configurator, read 3 November 2026. The release says "MSRP"; it doesn't say drive-away. The configurator's own footnote describes its drive-away estimate as the recommended retail price plus 12 months registration, compulsory third-party insurance, dealer delivery and stamp duty, which differ by state. Treat $47,990 as the price before those on-road costs and expect the drive-away figure to be higher.

Two things in Lepas's own terms are worth reading before you plan around that figure. The reservation terms on its configurator describe the price shown as an estimated maximum drive-away price, say the final price is yet to be determined, and say Lepas may amend pricing before public launch or official on-sale. They also say Lepas does not sell cars directly, so the price you pay is agreed with the selling dealer. A $1,000 reservation fee, refundable before you sign a contract, is what the configurator takes today.

There is a launch offer. Lepas says premium paint is at no extra charge for a limited time, and it hasn't printed an end date in the places we looked. The colours on the spec sheet are Crimson Purple, Light Speed Orange, Khaki White, Bamboo Grey and Carbon Crystal Black, which is pre-order only, and the spec sheet marks premium paint as an extra-cost item outside the offer without printing the amount.

Two details are easy to get wrong. One: the range and the battery are lower than the figures in our earlier Lepas story, which had a 67kWh battery and roughly 450km; Lepas's own pages now say 65kWh and 440km. The other: Lepas prints two boot figures: 323 litres on the L6 page and 435 litres "up to roof" on the spec sheet, with the same 1,255 litres once the rear seats fold. Lepas doesn't say how each was measured, so compare like with like when you check a rival's boot.

There is a small ownership sum you can do with Lepas's own numbers. Its fuel savings calculator starts from 10L/100km, $1.90 a litre and $0.30 a kilowatt-hour. At the L6's rated 17.5kWh/100km that is about $5.25 of electricity per 100km, against $19.00 of petrol, a gap of about $13.75 per 100km. At the calculator's 40km a day that is roughly $2,000 a year. It uses the rated figure, ignores charging losses and your actual tariff, and your own numbers will differ.

What Comes Standard

With a single grade there is no options ladder to climb, so the spec sheet is the whole list. The main items:

  • 13.2-inch touchscreen and 8.88-inch driver display, with wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Eight-speaker Sony sound system, digital radio and 50W wireless phone charging
  • Panoramic sunroof with a retractable sunshade, power tailgate and 19-inch alloy wheels
  • Synthetic leather, heated and ventilated front seats, a power driver's seat with memory and four-way lumbar, a power front passenger seat
  • Dual-zone climate control, rear air vents, colour-selectable ambient lighting and a heat pump
  • Front and rear parking sensors (six each), reverse camera and a 360-degree around view monitor
  • Automatic Parking Assist and Remote Parking Assist (using the smart key, where permitted by law)
  • Heated, power-folding mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, LED lighting and a "Hello Lepas" voice assistant

Safety and ANCAP

Lepas lists seven airbags (driver, front passenger, front side, curtain and a front centre airbag), autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, emergency lane keeping, lane departure warning and prevention, adaptive cruise control, lane centring assist, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic assist, door opening warning, rear collision warning, speed limit information, a driver monitoring system, two ISOFIX positions and three top tether anchors. Lepas's spec sheet is clear that driver assistance is not a substitute for the driver.

ANCAP: not yet rated. ANCAP's own page for the L6 showed no published rating when we read it on 3 November 2026, so we don't state one.

Warranty and Servicing

The vehicle warranty is seven years with unlimited kilometres, and the high-voltage battery carries eight years or 200,000km, starting from first registration. Lepas also advertises seven-year capped price servicing and up to seven years of roadside assistance: roadside is complimentary at registration and renewed for 12 months at each scheduled service at an authorised Lepas dealer. Lepas hasn't printed the servicing prices on the pages we read, so the running-cost line is still to come. Terms, conditions and exclusions apply.

How the L6 Compares: What Our Directory Holds

The L6 lands in a crowded part of the market. Here is how its printed figures sit against four electric SUVs and hatches in our directory, using the list prices and specs our listings carry. Our listings can lag a manufacturer's latest word, so check the manufacturer's own page before you buy.

Current price on CarSorted: Geely EX5 Complete $41,990 RRP, as at 19 Sep 2026; BYD Atto 3 EVO Dynamic $41,990 RRP, as at 1 Oct 2026; BYD Atto 3 EVO Premium $46,990 RRP, as at 1 Oct 2026; Kia EV3 Air Standard Range $47,600 RRP, as at 6 Sep 2026.

Rival prices and specs are from our directory listings on 3 November 2026 (list price basis, not drive-away); the L6 row is Lepas's own printed MSRP and specification.

On those numbers the L6 is $6,000 above the EX5 Complete and the Atto 3 EVO Dynamic, and it gives you less battery and less claimed range than the EX5 for that money. Against the Atto 3 EVO Premium it is $1,000 cheaper on the list, but the Premium carries a bigger battery, a longer claimed range and more power. It sits almost level with the Kia EV3 Air Standard Range on price and claimed range, a few hundred dollars apart. Those are list prices from different manufacturers on different dates, and they don't capture drive-away offers, so run your postcode through each manufacturer's own calculator. For a closer look at the two cheapest names in that table, our BYD Atto 3 vs Geely EX5 comparison puts the specs side by side.

What This Means for Buyers

If you are cross-shopping, the useful question isn't whether $47,990 is cheap, it is what the extra $6,000 over the EX5 Complete or Atto 3 EVO Dynamic gets you. Lepas's single grade includes a panoramic sunroof, a power tailgate, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, a 13.2-inch screen with Sony audio and a seven-year warranty with capped-price servicing. Put that list next to the equipment list for the rival grade you're pricing, and set it against the EX5's bigger battery or the Atto 3 Premium's range. You get the facts, you make the decision.

Three things to pin down before you commit. Ask the dealer for a written drive-away price for your postcode, because Lepas has not printed one. Ask when the paint offer ends, because no date is printed. And ask for the capped servicing schedule, because the amounts aren't published yet. Our Lepas brand page will carry the L6 as its listing is updated with these figures.

Lepas also lists a coming-soon L8 plug-in hybrid and L4 EV on its Australian site, with no price or date for either. The L6 is the only Lepas you can test drive.

Disclaimer: Prices, specifications and offers are from Lepas Australia's news release, specification sheet and configurator as read on 3 November 2026. Lepas says images show overseas models and that pricing, specification and availability may change without notice; its reservation terms say Lepas may amend pricing before public launch. The $47,990 figure is printed as MSRP and is not a drive-away price. Rival figures are from CarSorted's directory and may differ from a manufacturer's current page. We have not driven the L6. Confirm the final price, specification and offer end date with an authorised Lepas dealer.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is the Lepas L6 in Australia?
Lepas Australia prints $47,990 MSRP for the L6 in its price announcement, dated 16 October 2026, and its own configurator lists the single grade, the Lepas L6 Signature, at $47,990. Lepas has not printed a drive-away total on the pages we read. The configurator estimates a drive-away price from your postcode, and its footnote says that estimate adds registration, compulsory third-party insurance, dealer delivery and stamp duty to the recommended retail price.
How many grades does the Lepas L6 come in?
One. Lepas Australia's announcement lists a single model, and its configurator offers one grade, the Lepas L6 Signature, with one powertrain: a front-mounted 160kW and 275Nm electric motor driving the front wheels.
What is the Lepas L6's range and battery size?
Lepas quotes a 65kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and 440km of range on the WLTP test cycle (its spec sheet cites ADR 81/03), with energy consumption of 17.5kWh/100km. WLTP is a laboratory figure for comparing cars; real-world range varies with speed, temperature and load.
How fast does the Lepas L6 charge?
Lepas lists 120kW as the maximum DC rate (CCS2), with 30 to 80 per cent in 22 minutes on a 120kW charger, and a 6.6kW single-phase Type 2 AC port. Its spec sheet notes charging times are approximate and vary with battery condition, temperature and the charger used.
When can I test drive or buy the Lepas L6?
Lepas says test drives are available at your nearest Lepas dealer from early November 2026. Its configurator takes a $1,000 refundable reservation fee, and its reservation terms say Lepas does not sell cars directly: the final price and delivery timing are agreed with the selling dealer. Lepas has not printed a delivery date on the pages we read.
Is the Lepas L6 ANCAP rated?
Not yet rated. ANCAP's own page for the L6 showed no published rating when we read it on 3 November 2026, so we don't state a star rating.
