The Chery Stockman is a dual-cab ute confirmed for Australia but not yet on sale, and not yet priced. Chery Australia lists the Australian launch as "Soon": it said Q4 2026 when it showed the KP31 concept on 23 February 2026, said on 17 June 2026 that launch timing would be announced closer to market introduction, and referred to an Australian arrival in late 2026 in its 4 August 2026 Premcar announcement. The powertrain is a diesel plug-in hybrid Chery calls Super Hybrid: a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel paired with electric drive for a combined 350kW and 800Nm, 4WD on all-terrain tyres, and up to 100km of electric-only range on the NEDC cycle with a 2L/100km combined consumption claim. It tows 3,500kg braked and 750kg unbraked, carries a 1,000kg payload, and measures 5,450 x 2,010 x 1,890mm on a 3,250mm wheelbase with at least 247mm of ground clearance at full load and a 1,560 x 1,560 x 500mm cargo box. Suspension is double wishbone front and leaf spring rear. Off-road hardware runs to three individually selectable differential locks front, centre and rear, plus crawl control and tight-turn assist. Ownership is covered by a 7-year unlimited kilometre warranty, 7 years of capped-price servicing, up to 7 years of roadside assistance and an 8-year unlimited kilometre high-voltage battery warranty from first registration. Chery describes its range, consumption, towing and output figures as preliminary and subject to change pending final specification, testing, certification and regulatory approval. ANCAP has published no rating for this model. Chery's current claim for it is Australia's first diesel PHEV ute; it used world-first wording in its February and March 2026 releases and has since narrowed it.
