Not yet. BYD has not confirmed Australian pricing, specification or an on-sale date for the Atto 2 DM-i. The figures shown here come from BYD Europe's specification sheet and are WLTP, not the ADR 81/02 figures Australia certifies to. Expect the Australian numbers to differ.

How far does the Atto 2 DM-i Boost go on electricity alone?

90km on the WLTP combined cycle in European specification. Australia certifies plug-in hybrids differently, so the local figure is likely to change.

What does the Atto 2 DM-i actually use once the battery is flat?

Accepted Answer

BYD's European sheet lists combined fuel consumption of 5.1L/100km for both grades. That is the number worth planning around. The much smaller utility-factor 'weighted combined' figure that plug-in hybrids are usually advertised with is printed as TBC on BYD's own sheet, so we have not published one.

Can the Atto 2 DM-i Boost DC fast charge?

Accepted Answer

No. BYD lists a Type 2 AC port only, with a maximum of 6.6kW. There is no DC fast-charging capability, so topping up the battery away from home takes hours rather than minutes.

Does the Atto 2 DM-i have an ANCAP safety rating?

Accepted Answer

No. Neither ANCAP nor Euro NCAP has published a result for the Atto 2 in electric or plug-in hybrid form. No rating should be assumed until one is published.

How much can the Atto 2 DM-i tow?

Accepted Answer

750kg braked and 750kg unbraked in European specification, with a 75kg roof load limit. That is enough for a small box trailer and not much else.
