The 2026 Chery Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid Elite FWD is the new entry to Chery's flagship seven-seat plug-in hybrid range, priced at $52,990 plus on-road costs — about $7,000 below the Ultimate AWD. It pairs a 1.5-litre turbo petrol with a single electric motor and a 19kWh LFP battery, returning a claimed 90km NEDC EV range and 1.5L/100km combined. Front-wheel drive means you lose the Ultimate's dual-motor AWD, head-up display, panoramic sunroof and massage seats, but standard kit still includes dual 12.3-inch displays, leather seating, 19-inch alloys, AEB, blind-spot, 360-degree camera, ten airbags and Chery's 7-year unlimited-km warranty (plus an 8-year battery warranty). The 2026 Chery Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid Ultimate AWD is the flagship of Chery's seven-seat plug-in hybrid range, pairing a 1.5-litre turbo petrol with twin electric motors for a combined 315kW and 580Nm, plus all-wheel drive. The 34kWh LFP battery delivers a claimed 170km NEDC electric range and 1.4L/100km combined, with about 1,250km total range when you add petrol back into the equation. Standard kit runs to leather seating with heating, ventilation and massage, a head-up display, dual 12.3-inch displays, 20-inch alloys, panoramic sunroof, automatic parking and a comprehensive ADAS suite with AEB, blind-spot, lane-keep, 360-degree camera and ten airbags. ANCAP has not published a star rating for the Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid yet, so it's worth treating safety on its specification rather than an official score; warranty coverage runs seven years unlimited km on the vehicle and eight years on the battery.
