The 2024 Renault Megane E-Tech is a compact electric SUV that suits Australian buyers seeking a practical family vehicle with genuine range credentials-its 440km WLTP range covers most daily commutes plus regional trips without constant charging anxiety. Its standout strength is the combination of reasonable space (440L boot, five seats) and genuine affordability for a modern EV with 5-star ANCAP safety and a five-year warranty. One thing to consider: at 1636kg with modest 160kW power, it prioritises efficiency over performance, so it won't feel sporty compared to petrol equivalents, though running costs around $1440 annually are significantly cheaper than traditional cars.
