Last week the new GWM Haval H7 had reached Australian ports, but GWM hadn't published a price list. That's now sorted. GWM put out its pricing on 29 October 2026, and the boxy new H7 is in dealerships in four grades: two hybrids and two plug-in hybrids, and GWM's configurator lists AWD against each of them.

Source: GWM Australia's Haval H7 configurator and 29 October 2026 release, read 30 October 2026. Prices are drive-away for private buyers in Victoria on 2026-build vehicles. *Includes GWM's $1,000 launch offer on the Lux HEV and Lux PHEV, which GWM says applies before 30 November 2026. Metallic paint adds $595.
Read the fine print before you sign. The $1,000 launch offer covers the two Lux grades only, and GWM says it can amend or withdraw it at any time. GWM's general price footnote on the H7 page also says vehicles must be ordered and delivered by 31 October 2026 or while stocks last, and the same footnote in the configurator gives 30 September 2026. Those dates sit beside a launch offer that runs to 30 November, so ask the dealer to confirm the drive-away figure in writing for your order date.
For context, the outgoing H7 we listed, a front-wheel-drive Vanta hybrid, was $46,990 drive-away for private buyers in Victoria on GWM's offers page when we read it on 4 October 2026. The new Vanta HEV is $49,990 and adds all-wheel drive.
Hybrid or Plug-In: What GWM Quotes
Both powertrains use a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with electric motors, and GWM says its Hi4 all-wheel-drive system is standard across the range. The self-charging hybrid makes up to 182kW of combined system power. The plug-in hybrid is the big number: up to 320kW and 670Nm, with GWM quoting 0-100km/h in 4.9 seconds.
The PHEV carries a 33.7kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. GWM quotes up to 137km of electric driving range and up to 844km of combined range on the WLTP test, and its website adds that range figures are a guide that will vary with driving style, load and conditions. If your daily driving fits inside that electric range and you can charge at home, the PHEV's extra $4,000 over the matching hybrid grade could pay its way. If you mostly do long country runs, the hybrid's lower price may make more sense.
GWM also lists up to eight drive modes and a locking rear differential, and the PHEV gets vehicle-to-load so the battery can run camping gear or tools. GWM's wording ties the locker to the Hi4 system, so check the brochure for exactly which grade gets what before you rely on it off-road.

What the Entry Lux HEV Gets
GWM's configurator lists these inclusions for the $45,990 Lux HEV: 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, auto parking assist, a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, leather-accented seats, an eight-way electric driver's seat, an eight-speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a head-up display and dual-zone climate control. GWM's H7 page says the 15.6-inch touchscreen and a 360-degree camera are standard across the range, and depending on grade the cabin adds a heated steering wheel and heated and ventilated front seats.
Warranty is seven years with unlimited kilometres for private buyers, and GWM includes a seven-year roadside assistance plan. Commercial use, such as rental or hire cars, gets seven years or 150,000km.
Safety: No ANCAP Data Yet
We hold no ANCAP rating for the new-generation H7, so all four grades show as no data on CarSorted. A rating for the outgoing H7 doesn't transfer to a new generation, so check ANCAP's website before you buy.
What This Means for Buyers
The H7 now has a full price list, and the spread is tight: $8,000 from the $45,990 Lux HEV to the $53,990 Vanta PHEV, with all-wheel drive on each grade GWM lists. The two Lux grades are $1,000 sharper until the end of November, which puts the Lux PHEV at the same $49,990 as the Vanta hybrid. That's the comparison worth doing: plug-in power and electric range on the Lux, or the Vanta's extra equipment on the hybrid.
Compare the grades side by side on our Haval H7 Lux HEV and Vanta PHEV pages, catch up on the arrival in our earlier H7 story, or see the rest of the range on the GWM brand page. You get the facts from GWM's own published pages, side by side. The decision is yours.
