The Z06 has been the gap in the Australian Corvette range for a year. GM Australia and New Zealand priced the MY26 range last October and the release covered the Stingray and the E-Ray only. The one Z06 GM did offer was a run of twelve Bathurst 12 Hour Specialty Edition cars, revealed in February, which GM called the only MY26 Z06 allocation for Australia and New Zealand this year. That gap closed this morning, at $299,990 for the MY27 Z06 3LZ Coupe.
The basis matters on a car this expensive. GM's footnote says the figure is recommended retail pricing inclusive of GST and luxury car tax, and excluding on-road costs. So stamp duty, registration, CTP and dealer delivery still sit on top, but the tax that usually turns a $300,000 sports car into something much uglier is already inside the number.
The price, and the basis
One variant is affected, because there is only one. GM lists the Z06 in a single configuration.
| Variant | Previous price | New price | Basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Petrol, 5.5-litre naturally aspirated V8 | |||
| MY27 Corvette Z06 3LZ Coupe | Not published by GM | $299,990 | RRP incl. GST and LCT, excl. on-roads |
That empty cell is the honest one. GM's release prints no earlier Australian figure beside the new one and never uses the word cut. What it does carry is a line from Greg Rowe, Acting Managing Director of GM Australia and New Zealand, that the car's "sharp new price point makes the Z06 more accessible". CarExpert has reported $299,990 as more than $36,000 under the model it replaces. That is their reporting, not GM's figure, so it stays out of our table and off the car pages.
Where it lands in the range
The rest of the Corvette line-up is MY26, at the prices GM published for it last October. Grouped by powertrain, on the same basis:
| Model | Price | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Petrol V8 | ||
| MY26 Stingray 2LT Coupe | $193,990 | RRP incl. GST/LCT, excl. on-roads |
| MY26 Stingray 3LT Coupe | $222,990 | RRP incl. GST/LCT, excl. on-roads |
| MY26 Stingray 3LT Convertible | $232,990 | RRP incl. GST/LCT, excl. on-roads |
| MY27 Z06 3LZ Coupe | $299,990 | RRP incl. GST/LCT, excl. on-roads |
| Petrol-electric V8, all-wheel drive | ||
| MY26 E-Ray 3LZ Coupe | $292,990 | RRP incl. GST/LCT, excl. on-roads |
So the Z06 opens $7,000 above the E-Ray, and that $7,000 is the most interesting number in the story. On the figures we list, the E-Ray makes 488kW and 806Nm, drives all four wheels and is quoted at 2.9 seconds to 100km/h. The Z06 answers with 475kW from a naturally aspirated engine that revs to 8,600rpm, in a car GMSV says was co-developed with the GT3.R race car. GMSV's Australian Z06 page lists 3.0 seconds to 100km/h for an available configuration. A tenth of a second apart on two claimed figures is not how anyone picks between these two.
Pick two
Stingray 3LT or E-Ray
The two dearest Corvette coupes we list, both below the Z06 on price.
| Spec | Corvette Stingray 3LT | Corvette E-Ray 3LZ |
|---|---|---|
| Price from | $222,990RRP, before on-roads | $292,990RRP, before on-roads |
| Power | 369 kW | 488 kW |
| Power to weight | No data | No data |
| Fuel use | 13.5 L/100km | 11.5 L/100km |
| Boot, seats up | 357 L | 355 L |
| ANCAP | No data | No data |
| Warranty | 5 yrunlimited km | 5 yrunlimited km |
The Z06 is not in this table because we do not list it yet. Prices are recommended retail including GST and luxury car tax, before on-road costs. We hold no ANCAP rating for any Corvette. Figures come from our car database, which is built from Australian manufacturer documents. A blank field reads “No data” rather than a zero or a dash.
What $299,990 actually buys

The engine is the point. GM quotes 475kW at 8,550rpm and 595Nm at 6,300rpm from the hand-assembled LT6 5.5-litre V8, with a flat-plane crankshaft, variable valve timing and dry-sump lubrication, running through an eight-speed dual-clutch with a Z06-specific final drive. Magnetic Ride Control 4.0, six-piston front Brembos and an electronic limited-slip differential are standard, with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R ZP tyres available.
Australia gets the Z06 in the high-grade 3LZ trim as standard: GT2 bucket seats in Napa leather, sueded microfibre upper trim, carbon-fibre steering wheel detailing and paddles, head-up display, a 14-speaker Bose Performance Series system, front lift with memory, the Performance Data Recorder and a removable roof. The cockpit is the new three-screen layout, with Google built in and over-the-air updates.
Everything beyond that is a choice you make at order. Ten exterior colours, three of them new for MY27 in Pitch Grey Metallic, Admiral Blue Metallic and Roswell Green Metallic. Forged 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. Carbon-ceramic Brembos, six caliper colours, full-length stripes, carbon ground effects, and the Z07 Performance Package with its carbon high rear spoiler, performance suspension, upgraded brakes and Cup 2R tyres. GM has published no Australian prices for any of it, so $299,990 is the price of the car before you choose anything that costs extra.
Timing, and the thing to ask a dealer
Orders open today and production starts at Bowling Green in January 2027. GM says delivery timing depends on your specification and on production scheduling, which is a polite way of saying nobody has given you a date. Ask for one in writing, and ask what your options add.
One more number worth running first. On a car at this price, what it is worth in five years is a far bigger line than the $7,000 between the Z06 and the E-Ray. Our depreciation calculator will put a figure on it, and the running cost calculator will do the fuel bill. We will add a Z06 listing once we hold its full Australian specification.
Disclaimer: The MY27 Corvette Z06 price, pricing basis, ordering and production timing, engine outputs, standard equipment and option list are from GM Australia and New Zealand's media release of 1 October 2026 and its attached pricing table. The 0 to 100km/h figure and the GT3.R co-development line are from GMSV's Australian Corvette Z06 model page, read the same day, where the time is shown for an available configuration. MY26 Stingray and E-Ray prices are from GM ANZ's MY26 Corvette range release and match the figures on our car pages. The comparison with the outgoing Z06 price is CarExpert's reporting, not a GM figure, and is not stored against any car. We hold no ANCAP rating for any Corvette variant. Prices exclude stamp duty, registration, CTP, plates and dealer delivery, and GM has not published Australian option prices. Confirm price, specification and timing with a GMSV dealer before ordering.
