The 2026 Kia Stonic S is a compact SUV that suits budget-conscious buyers wanting practical urban transport, with room for five and a 352-litre boot that's genuinely useful for groceries and gear. Its standout strength is the combination of genuine fuel efficiency at 5.7L/100km paired with Kia's seven-year warranty, which means lower running costs and peace of mind compared to rivals. One thing to consider is the modest 88kW output from the 1.0-litre petrol engine-it's adequate for city driving but you'll notice it when merging on motorways or carrying passengers.

The 2026 Kia Stonic GT-Line is a compact petrol SUV that suits first-time buyers and city drivers seeking affordable practicality with a sporty edge, offering a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 88kW and 172Nm through an 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Its standout strength is efficiency, delivering a combined fuel consumption of 5.7L/100km alongside modest running costs around $2496 annually, while the 352-litre boot provides genuine everyday versatility for five occupants. One consideration: the modest 88kW output may feel leisurely during highway merging or when fully loaded, so test-drive in real-world conditions before committing.

The Stonic Sport is the mid-grade in Kia's three-tier light SUV range, sitting between the S and the GT-Line. For MY26 the whole range moves to a 1.0-litre turbo three-cylinder petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system, making 88kW and 172Nm through a 7-speed dual-clutch auto, and the Sport returns a claimed 5.0L/100km combined on regular unleaded. Over the base S, the Sport steps up to 17-inch alloys, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with satellite navigation, DAB digital radio and Kia Connect, plus Smart Cruise Control with stop and go, premium cloth and artificial-leather seats, rain-sensing wipers, LED front fog lights, solar and privacy glass, and a sliding centre console armrest. It keeps the practical Stonic basics: five seats, a 352-litre boot (1,155 litres with the rear seats folded) and Kia's 7-year unlimited-kilometre warranty.
