The new BMW i3 50 xDrive Sedan is a fully electric sports sedan and the second production model of BMW's Neue Klasse, and BMW Australia says it is arriving in 2027. BMW says two electric motors using its Gen6 eDrive technology power the car, with a new high-voltage battery using 800-volt technology. BMW's figures are preliminary and not yet officially confirmed: a WLTP range of up to 900 km, DC charging at up to 400 kW, and up to 400 km of range added in 10 minutes at a high-power charging station. Production is due to start in Munich in August 2026. BMW Australia has not yet published a price or a full Australian specification for the car, and we will add both once it does.

BMW i3 40 xDrive Sedan

The BMW i3 40 xDrive is the entry grade of BMW's new all-electric i3 sedan, the Neue Klasse electric counterpart to the new 3 Series, and it is confirmed for Australia. BMW Australia's own i3 page says the car arrives in 2027, and BMW Australia's announcement, as reported by several Australian outlets, puts both i3 grades in the first quarter of 2027. BMW Australia has not yet published pricing or specifications for the 40 xDrive on its own website, so we have not listed a price or specification figures. This page will be updated when BMW Australia publishes them.
