Key Takeaways

  • We hold 50 coming-soon models badged 2026. We checked each against its manufacturer's Australian page on 6 November
  • Due before the year is out, on the manufacturer's own timing: smart #5, Lepas L6, Leapmotor B03X, Mitsubishi Pajero, Lexus RZ 600e F Sport Performance and BMW X5 40 and 40d
  • Three are already taking orders: the new Kia Seltos, BYD Atto 2 DM-i and Hyundai i30 Sedan N Monochrome
  • 17 are confirmed for Australia with no date printed, so a 2026 arrival isn't promised
  • Slipped to 2027: Chery Stockman (deliveries from 1 February), Geely Monjaro EM-i, BMW i3 Sedan and iX4
  • Reported only: Haval Jolion Max, the new KGM Musso and Mitsubishi ASX VR-e

Our 2027 month-by-month list answers what's coming next year. This one answers the question people are asking right now: if I'm buying before Christmas, what's actually still coming this year, and what has quietly moved into next year?

We hold 50 models in our directory marked coming soon and badged 2026. A badge isn't a promise, so on 6 November we went back to each manufacturer's own Australian page or release and sorted the cars by what it actually says now. Six have a date in November or December, or late in the year. Three are already taking orders. Seventeen are confirmed for Australia with no date at all. Three now carry a 2027 date from the manufacturer itself. The rest are either only reported, or we couldn't find an Australian confirmation.

The Short List: Due Before the End of 2026

CarTypeTiming, as printedAnnounced price
smart #5Electric SUV"Retail deliveries ... will commence in November"$58,900 to $73,900 RRP, before on-roads
Lepas L6Electric SUVTest drives from early November$47,990 MSRP

Mitsubishi PajeroLarge 4WD SUV"Will be unleashed in December 2026"Not announced
Lexus RZ 600e F Sport PerformanceElectric SUV"Fourth quarter of this year"$135,000, before on-roads
BMW X5 40 xDrive and 40d xDriveLarge SUV, mild hybrid"Available from late 2026"Not printed on BMW's public page

Current price on CarSorted: smart #5 Pro+ $58,900 RRP, as at 3 Oct 2026.

November: smart #5, Lepas L6 and Leapmotor B03X

Three electric SUVs are landing as you read this. smart Australia's launch release says retail deliveries of the #5 start in November, with the Pro+ at $58,900, Premium at $63,900 and BRABUS at $73,900, each a recommended retail price before on-road costs. smart's configurator prints 590km of WLTP range for the Pro+ and Premium and 540km for the BRABUS. More in our smart #5 price story.

Lepas announced the L6 at $47,990 MSRP in a single grade, with test drives from early November. Its Australian site no longer tags the L6 as coming soon, though it still does for the L4 and L8. We've kept the details in our L6 pricing story. And Leapmotor's B03X page now reads "From $29,990 Drive Away", available to pre-order at dealers, with that price tied to an end-of-year offer for cars bought and delivered by 31 December. See our B03X row.

December: the new Mitsubishi Pajero

The big one for this list. Mitsubishi Australia's Pajero page says "The All-New Pajero will be unleashed in December 2026", and dealers are taking pre-orders, with an offer for orders placed before 15 December. Mitsubishi lists four grades, GLS 5, GLS 7, Exceed and GSR; we hold the GLS 7, Exceed and GSR, plus a placeholder row. No price has been printed, so we don't give one. If you're weighing it up against what's in showrooms now, our Pajero vs Prado vs Everest vs MU-X comparison lines up the numbers Mitsubishi has released.

Late 2026: Lexus RZ 600e, BMW X5, Kia PV5 Passenger

Lexus Australia priced the RZ 600e F Sport Performance at $135,000 before on-road costs and said it is due in the fourth quarter of this year. BMW's X5 page says the new X5 40 xDrive and 40d xDrive "will be available from late 2026", while the plug-in X5 50e waits until 2027. List prices for the X5 have only been reported, and BMW's public page shows a drive-away figure that changes with your postcode, so we've left price out.

The Kia PV5 Passenger is the odd one out: Kia Australia has no page for it yet, but its head of product planning, Roland Rivero, told Drive it's due in the final three months of this year, and CarExpert and carsales report the same quarter. We've counted it as confirmed by the local distributor, not by a printed page. Our PV5 Passenger story has the detail.

Already Here, Even Though Our List Said Coming Soon

Three cars on the 2026 list have arrived, or at least moved to orders, since their rows were made. On 6 November, Kia Australia's old Seltos coming-soon address went straight to a Seltos Hybrid page that says "The all-new Seltos is here", with a Build and price tool (our row, and our Seltos Hybrid launch story). BYD Australia's Atto 2 DM-i page shows an Order Now button for both the Essential ($24,990) and Premium ($29,990), both vehicle prices before on-roads. And Hyundai's i30 Sedan N page offers "Order now" for the 200-car i30 Sedan N Monochrome. We're updating those rows; until then, treat them as current cars, not coming ones.

Confirmed for Australia, Date to Come

These 17 have a manufacturer's Australian page or release behind them, but no date. Some carry a 2026 badge only because that's the year the manufacturer announced them. Don't plan a 2026 purchase around any of them.

CarWhat the Australian page says
Denza Z9GT"Arriving Soon", register interest
Deepal S05Register interest, no price or timing
XPeng G9L and L03Early access and register interest, no price
Lepas L8 and L4"Coming soon"
GMC Yukon Denali Signature BlackModel page live, no arrival date
Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake, CLA Electric Shooting Brake, Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 electric"Coming soon", "not yet available in Australia"
Mercedes-AMG GT SUV, Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, new GLS"Coming soon"
Genesis GV90"Coming Soon", register interest
Skoda Epiq"We're working hard to bring it to Australia"
Aston Martin DBX GTAustralian model page with configurator
Polestar 7"The premium compact SUV is coming"
Renault 5 Turbo 3E"Reservations now open"
Jaecoo J7 SHS-P Black Edition"Coming soon", register interest

Deepal is a useful warning. Its S05 page printed an arrival of the third quarter of 2025, then the fourth quarter of 2025, then the first half of 2026, before the date came off altogether. Denza's Z9GT was reported for the third quarter of this year and is still "arriving soon". A date on a coming-soon car is a plan, not a delivery slot.

Slipped Into 2027

The more useful part of this list might be the cars that have moved. The Chery Stockman diesel plug-in hybrid ute is the clearest case: in February Chery Australia said the production ute would land in showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2026, in August it said late 2026, and its page now says delivery starts from 1 February 2027, with reservations open until 30 November. Our Stockman reservations story has the terms.

Geely's September release puts the Monjaro EM-i plug-in hybrid at "arriving H1, 2027", though you can pre-order now. BMW says the i3 Sedan 50 xDrive and the iX4 40 xDrive and 50 xDrive are available to order in 2027. Then there are cars you can commit to in 2026 but won't drive until 2027: Polestar's configurator showed January to February 2027 delivery for the updated Polestar 4 on 1 October, HQ's chief executive Jim Wu has said E-HS9 deliveries to customers start in mid-January 2027, and Changan Group Australia says Avatr 07L pre-orders open before the end of 2026 with deliveries in the first half of 2027.

Reported for 2026, Not Confirmed

Each of these has been covered by at least three separately written Australian outlets, but the manufacturer hasn't confirmed it on an Australian page we could read on 6 November.

  • GWM Haval Jolion Max. Reported for the fourth quarter by CarExpert, WhichCar and Drive. GWM Australia's site has no page for it; the one GWM text we found that names it is a New Zealand release. See our Jolion Max story.
  • KGM Musso (new generation). CarExpert and CarsGuide reported KGM saying October 2026, and Drive earlier said mid-2026. KGM Australia's Musso page still shows the current ute, from $37,490 drive-away. Our Musso story covers it.
  • Mitsubishi ASX VR-e. An electric ASX reported for late 2026 by CarExpert, Chasing Cars and carsales. Mitsubishi Australia has no page for it.

What Is Not Coming Yet

We hold 2026 rows for these, but we couldn't read an Australian confirmation from the manufacturer, or what we read points the other way. Don't expect them in 2026:

What This Means for Buyers

If you need a car before the end of the year, the honest shortlist of new arrivals is small: the smart #5, Lepas L6 and Leapmotor B03X in electric SUVs, the Pajero in December if you're after a seven-seat 4WD, and the X5 and RZ 600e at the top end. Everything else on this page is either already in showrooms, undated, or a 2027 car. If you're choosing between waiting and buying now, line the coming car up against what you can drive away today on our compare page, and remember that an offer tied to delivery by 31 December only helps if the car actually arrives by then.

Looking further out? Our other lists cover the same coming-soon cars from different angles: 2027 month by month, new EVs with range and charging, new hybrids and plug-ins, new utes with towing and payload, and new Chinese cars and brands. We'll update this page as manufacturers print dates and prices.

Disclaimer: Timing, prices and specifications are as printed on each manufacturer's Australian website or release, read on 6 November 2026 unless another date is given, and can change. Counts are from the coming-soon models in our directory on 6 November 2026. Cars described as reported have not been confirmed on a manufacturer's Australian page we could read. Prices are labelled as the manufacturer labels them: recommended retail or MSRP before on-road costs, or drive-away where stated. No ANCAP rating is stated for any car here.

Frequently Asked Questions

What new cars are still coming to Australia in 2026?
Going by the manufacturers' own words, the cars still due before the end of 2026 are the smart #5 (deliveries from November, from $58,900 before on-roads), the Lepas L6 ($47,990 MSRP, test drives from early November), the Leapmotor B03X (on pre-order at $29,990 drive-away), the new Mitsubishi Pajero (December 2026), the Lexus RZ 600e F Sport Performance (fourth quarter, $135,000) and the BMW X5 40 xDrive and 40d xDrive (late 2026). Kia Australia has also told media the PV5 Passenger is due in the last three months of the year.
When does the new Mitsubishi Pajero arrive in Australia?
Mitsubishi Australia says the all-new Pajero "will be unleashed in December 2026". Dealers are taking pre-orders, with a pre-order offer for orders placed before 15 December 2026. Mitsubishi hasn't printed a price yet.
Which 2026 cars have been delayed to 2027?
The clearest case is the Chery Stockman ute: Chery Australia said in February that it would land in showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2026 and in August said late 2026, and its page now says deliveries start from 1 February 2027. Geely's Monjaro EM-i is now listed for the first half of 2027, BMW says the i3 Sedan and iX4 are available to order in 2027, and Polestar's configurator shows January to February 2027 delivery for the updated Polestar 4.
Is the new Kia Seltos on sale yet?
Yes. Kia Australia's old coming-soon address for the Seltos now goes to the Seltos Hybrid page, which says "The all-new Seltos is here" and has a Build and price tool, as read on 6 November 2026.
How much is the smart #5 in Australia?
smart Australia lists the #5 Pro+ at $58,900, the Premium at $63,900 and the BRABUS at $73,900, each its recommended retail price before on-road costs. It says retail deliveries start in November.
Are the KGM Musso and Haval Jolion Max coming in 2026?
Both have been reported for late 2026, but neither manufacturer had an Australian page for the car when we checked on 6 November. KGM Australia's site still lists only the current Musso, and GWM Australia's site has no Jolion Max page. Treat both as reported, not confirmed.
