The Silverado 2500 HD LTZ Premium is GMSV's heavy-duty tow rig, powered by an enhanced 6.6-litre Duramax turbo-diesel V8 making 350kW and a huge 1,322Nm through a 10-speed auto. It is rated to tow up to 4,500kg braked (70mm ball) but the headline numbers are the 12,474kg gross combination mass and the dual-rating chassis: 4,495kg GVM with 733kg payload on a normal car licence (NB1), or 5,148kg GVM and 1,386kg payload registered as NB2, which needs a light-truck licence. It rides on a multi-leaf rear axle, carries a 136-litre diesel tank, and gets the same 13.4-inch screen, Bose audio, leather and full trailering tech as the 1500 LTZ. Built in the US, remanufactured to RHD in Australia, sold on dealer quote with no published RRP, and no ANCAP rating.
