The IM5 Premium is the entry point to IM Motors' electric fastback, a badge from SAIC (MG's parent) sold and serviced through MG's Australian dealer network. At $60,990 drive-away it undercuts most rivals while stretching nearly 4.9 metres, so there's genuine limo-grade space inside. The Premium runs a 75kWh LFP battery on a 400V platform for up to 490km of WLTP range, with a single rear motor making 217kW. It fast-charges at up to 153kW. Even this base car is loaded, with a 26.3-inch display, 20 speakers, a panoramic glass roof, heated and ventilated front seats and the full IM AD driver-assist suite as standard. As a sub-$91k EV it also qualifies for the FBT exemption on a novated lease.

The IM5 Platinum sits in the middle of IM Motors' electric fastback range at $69,990 drive-away. It swaps the base car's 75kWh pack for a 100kWh NCM battery on an 800V architecture, lifting WLTP range to 655km and DC charging to a rapid 396kW (about 30 to 80 per cent in 15 minutes). A single rear motor makes 300kW for a 4.6-second 0-100km/h run. On top of the already generous kit the Platinum adds air suspension, active damping and rear-wheel steering with a crab mode. Sold and serviced through MG dealers, it heavily undercuts European rivals like the BMW i4 and Audi A6 e-tron.

The IM5 Performance is the flagship of IM Motors' electric fastback at $80,990 drive-away. Dual motors produce a combined 572kW and 802Nm for a claimed 0-100km/h of 2.74 seconds (MG's figure, measured with rollout, so nearer 3.2 seconds in the real world), which is supercar pace for the money. It keeps the 100kWh NCM battery and 800V platform, good for 575km WLTP and 396kW DC charging, and rides on air suspension with rear-wheel steering. Standard kit runs to 20 speakers, a panoramic roof, frameless doors and the full self-parking IM AD suite. Sold through MG dealers, it undercuts anything with comparable acceleration.
