The 2026 MG MG4 Urban Essence 54 is an electric hatchback for getting around town and doing the daily commute without buying fuel. It's $32,990 RRP, which is the recommended retail price, before on-road costs. It has a 54kWh battery with a WLTP range of 405km, and DC fast charging peaks at 87kW. The boot takes 382 litres with the rear seats up and 1,266 litres folded, but we don't have a braked towing figure for it yet. It suits someone after a practical front-drive EV hatch for city and suburban driving.
Configure the Essence 54The 2026 MG MG4 Urban Essence 43 is a five-seat electric hatchback with front-wheel drive and a single-speed transmission. It's priced from $29,990 drive-away, which is MG's advertised drive-away price in VIC. You get a 43kWh battery, a claimed 316km of WLTP range and DC fast charging that peaks at 82kW, plus 382 litres of boot space with the seats up. Towing is limited to 500kg braked or unbraked, so it's not one for hauling a decent-sized trailer. It suits someone after an affordable electric runabout for city and suburban driving.
