The 2014 Volkswagen Caravelle Trendline TDI340 is the nine-seat, long-wheelbase T5.1 people mover, sold in Australia in a single grade with a single engine. The 2.0-litre common-rail TDI340 makes 103kW at 3500rpm and 340Nm from 1750 to 2500rpm, is Euro 5 with a diesel particulate filter, and drives the front wheels through a seven-speed DSG. ADR 81/02 consumption is 8.2 L/100km combined, 10.4 urban and 6.9 extra-urban, CO2 is 216g/km and the tank holds 80 litres. Dimensions are unchanged from the previous year at 5292mm long, 1904mm wide and 1990mm tall on a 3400mm wheelbase, with a 13.2-metre turning circle and a passenger area 2970mm long. Unladen mass rises slightly to 2124kg on Volkswagen's 10-litre-of-fuel, no-occupants basis. Towing is 2000kg braked, 750kg unbraked, 100kg on the ball. Standard equipment covers two-zone Climatic air conditioning with front and rear controls, the full ESP/ABS/ASR/brake assist/Hill Holder set, daytime running lights, RCD210 audio with four speakers, power front windows and 16-inch steel wheels; cruise control, Bluetooth, parking sensors and a reversing camera remained options. The 2011 Volkswagen Caravelle is the nine-seat, long-wheelbase people mover in the T5.1 range, and Volkswagen Australia's People Movers brochure for model year 2010/2011 gives it one engine: the 2.0-litre common-rail TDI with 103kW at 3500rpm and 340Nm between 1750 and 2500rpm, Euro 5, front-wheel drive, seven-speed DSG. The published ADR 81/02 numbers are 8.2 L/100km combined, 10.4 urban and 6.9 extra-urban with 216g/km of CO2, and Volkswagen quotes 14.7 seconds to 100km/h and a 172km/h top speed. It is 5292mm long, 1904mm wide and 1990mm tall on a 3400mm wheelbase, and the brochure gives a 13.2-metre wall-to-wall turning circle. Behind the front seats the load volume runs from 1376 litres with three rows still in place to 5683 litres with everything but the front row removed. Standard equipment covers dual front airbags, ABS, ESP, EDL, ASR, brake assist, daytime running lights, ISOFIX and top-tether anchorages on the second row, Climatic air conditioning, cloth trim, electric front windows, three 12-volt sockets, roof rack rails, tie-downs and 16-inch steel wheels. Volkswagen's brochure kerb figure of 2203kg explicitly includes a full tank and a 75kg driver, so we do not present it as a kerb mass. No price is published in this document, so none is recorded.

The 2013 Volkswagen Caravelle Trendline TDI340 is the nine-seat, long-wheelbase people mover in the T5.1 range, and in Australia it was sold in one grade with one engine. That is the 2.0-litre four-cylinder common-rail TDI340: 103kW at 3500rpm, 340Nm from 1750 to 2500rpm, Euro 5 with a diesel particulate filter, driving the front wheels through a seven-speed DSG. Volkswagen quotes 8.2 L/100km combined on ADR 81/02, 10.4 urban and 6.9 extra-urban, with 216g/km of CO2 and an 80-litre tank. It is 5292mm long and 1990mm tall on a 3400mm wheelbase, turns in 13.2 metres and carries a passenger area 2970mm long, 1692mm wide and 1317mm high. Volkswagen's unladen mass is 2113kg, measured with 10 litres of fuel and no occupants, and the Caravelle tows 2000kg braked and 750kg unbraked with a 100kg towball limit. Seating is a 2/2/2/3 layout on removable benches. Standard equipment includes two-zone Climatic air conditioning with front and rear controls, ESP, ABS, brake assist, ASR, Hill Holder, daytime running lights, an RCD210 CD/radio with four speakers, power front windows and 16-inch steel wheels. Cruise control, Bluetooth, parking sensors, a reversing camera, curtain airbags and alloy wheels were all options. No price is published in this document.

The 2010 Volkswagen Caravelle Trendline is the long-wheelbase, nine-seat people mover version of the T5.1 Transporter, and by September 2010 Volkswagen Australia had cut the range back to a single grade and a single engine. That engine is the 2.0-litre four-cylinder common-rail TDI, 103kW at 3500rpm and 340Nm from 1750 to 2500rpm, Euro 5 with a diesel particulate filter, driving the front wheels through a seven-speed DSG. Volkswagen quotes 8.2 L/100km combined on ADR 81/02 and 216g/km of CO2 from an 80-litre tank. It is 5292mm long on a 3400mm wheelbase, 1990mm tall, and the passenger area measures 2970mm long by 1692mm wide by 1317mm high. Seating is a 2/2/2/3 layout with removable benches. The spec sheet quotes a tare weight of 2053kg that explicitly includes the driver, so we do not publish it as a kerb mass. Towing is 2000kg braked and 750kg unbraked with a 100kg towball limit. Standard kit runs to two-zone Climatic air conditioning with rear controls, ESP with ABS, brake assist, ASR and Hill Holder, power front windows, an RCD 210 CD/radio with four speakers and a full-size steel spare. Cruise control, alloy wheels, parking sensors, a reversing camera, side and curtain airbags and satellite navigation were all cost options. Volkswagen published no price in this document, so none is recorded here.

The 2016 Volkswagen Caravelle Trendline is the first T6-generation Caravelle Volkswagen Australia gave its own specification sheet, and it stays a one-grade, one-engine, nine-seat, long-wheelbase people mover. The 2.0-litre TDI340 BlueMotion Technology four-cylinder makes 103kW at 3500rpm and 340Nm from 1750 to 2500rpm, with engine stop-start, and drives the front wheels through a seven-speed DSG with sport mode, Tiptronic and a coasting function. ADR 81/02 consumption drops to 7.7 L/100km combined, 9.5 urban and 6.7 extra-urban from an 80-litre tank, and Volkswagen quotes 13.0 seconds to 100km/h. The T6 is 5304mm long on the same 3400mm wheelbase, 1990mm tall, with 222mm of ground clearance, a 13.2-metre turning circle and 6700 litres of cargo volume with the rear seats out. GVM is 3000kg and the roof load limit is 100kg. Standard equipment is far deeper than the T5.1's: side and head airbags for the front seats, ISOFIX and top-tether anchorages across the second and third rows, Driver Alert fatigue detection, rear park distance control with a reversing camera, multi-collision braking, cruise control, Climatronic with rear controls, a leather steering wheel and gearshift knob, and a 5-inch Composition Colour touchscreen with Bluetooth and eight speakers. No price is published in this document.

The 2017 Volkswagen Caravelle Trendline is the T6 nine-seat, long-wheelbase people mover in the form Volkswagen Australia sold it from late 2016. Mechanically it is unchanged from MY16: the 2.0-litre TDI340 BlueMotion Technology four-cylinder with 103kW at 3500rpm, 340Nm from 1750 to 2500rpm, engine stop-start and a seven-speed DSG with sport mode, Tiptronic and coasting, driving the front wheels. ADR 81/02 consumption is 7.7 L/100km combined, 9.5 urban and 6.7 extra-urban from an 80-litre tank. It measures 5304mm long on a 3400mm wheelbase with 222mm of ground clearance and a 13.2-metre turning circle, and swallows 6700 litres with the rear seats removed. The MY17 sheet is the first to publish a towing capacity for the Caravelle: 2500kg braked, 750kg unbraked, 100kg on the towbar. It also corrects the unladen mass to 2137kg against a 3000kg GVM. Standard equipment includes front and side/head airbags, ISOFIX and top-tether anchorages across the second and third rows, multi-collision braking, driver fatigue detection, rear park distance control with a reversing camera, cruise control, Climatronic with rear controls, a leather steering wheel and a 5-inch Composition Colour touchscreen with Bluetooth, now with six speakers rather than eight. No price is published in this document.
