Key Takeaways
- Rox Motor's China-based marketing agency, YHC Technology, says the brand plans to enter Australia around late 2026 or early 2027, as reported by carsales
- The timing is the agency's, not Rox Motor's or a local distributor's, and carsales notes the agency may have jumped the gun
- The Adamas range-extender SUV looks likely to lead, with a Pininfarina Shanghai design and a centre console that converts into an emergency toilet
- No Australian price or specification. The Adamas is reported at roughly $100,000 in the UAE, which is UAE pricing only
- CarExpert reported Australian trademark filings in February 2026 but no announcement from Rox

Another Chinese brand is lining up for Australia, or at least its marketing agency says it is. carsales reported on 23 October that Rox Motor, a premium new-energy brand from China, plans to launch here around the end of 2026 or early in 2027, with a boxy SUV that has a toilet built into the centre console.
The detail that matters is who is saying it. According to carsales, the timing comes from YHC Technology, a China-based marketing agency working on Rox's international campaigns, which has been sounding out local automotive outlets and creators about a possible launch event. It didn't come from Rox Motor itself or from an Australian distributor, and we haven't seen a statement from either. carsales' own closing line is that there is a chance the agency has jumped the gun.
What Has Been Said About Australia
| Item | As reported |
|---|---|
| Who says it | YHC Technology, a marketing agency (via carsales) |
| Timing | Around the end of 2026 or early 2027 |
| Launch event | "May" happen around then; date and place not set |
| First model | Adamas, "likely" (carsales) |
| Statement from Rox or a local distributor | None seen by us |
| Australian price and specification | Not announced |
carsales quotes the agency's message as saying "Australia is a strategically important market for ROX Motor" and that "ROX Motor is planning to enter the Australian market around the end of this year or early next year. There may be a launch event around that time."
What We Knew Before
This isn't the first Australian signal. In February 2026 CarExpert reported it had found more than a dozen local trademark filings by Rox Motors, including for the Adamas and Pole Stone names. At the time it said Rox had made no announcement about Australia, though it understood the company had personnel here. A filing isn't a launch commitment, and the brand has said nothing publicly in the reports we've read since.
carsales describes the company as formerly Polestones Automobile, rebranded as Rox Motor in 2024, and says it has since rolled out across the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia.
The Adamas, as Reported Overseas
carsales calls the Adamas the likely first model. CarExpert describes it as the renamed, slightly longer and lower successor to the earlier Rox 01 (first known as the Pole Stones 01). These are overseas details as the outlets report them, not Australian specifications:
| Item | As reported |
|---|---|
| Layout | Boxy six- or seven-seat SUV |
| Design | Pininfarina's Shanghai office |
| Powertrain | Single or dual electric motor, 1.5L turbo-petrol as generator only |
| Output | 150kW (single motor), 350kW (dual motor) |
| 0-100km/h | 5.5 seconds, claimed |
| Combined range | 1,226km, including 215km electric, as quoted by ROX |
| UAE price (not Australian) | From roughly $100,000, per carsales |
As at 24 October 2026. Outputs and the 0-100km/h time are as reported by carsales and CarExpert (CarExpert credits ChinaPEV for the outputs and says it is unclear which version the range figure applies to). The UAE figure is carsales' wording, we haven't checked it against a ROX price list, and we haven't converted it into an Australian price.
Then there's the camping kit, which both outlets list as a tailgate kitchen, an overnight sentry mode, an inflatable mattress and household power outlets. The party piece is the centre console. Per carsales and CarExpert, lift its removable lid and it becomes an emergency toilet, to be used with a dedicated bag packed with deodorising, absorbent gel. CarExpert credits the Chinese site Dcar for that detail. Nature calls, apparently, and the Adamas answers.
Safety
ANCAP: no data. We hold no ANCAP rating for any Rox, and none carries over from another brand. We won't show a star rating until ANCAP publishes one.
What This Means for Buyers
Nothing here is something you can order. There's no Australian price, no confirmed model, no warranty terms, no dealer network and no ANCAP result, and the timing is an agency's estimate that carsales itself flags as possibly premature. carsales says the reported UAE price would put the Adamas squarely in premium territory, but a price in another market tells you very little about what an Australian one would be.
A brand-new badge also has no local resale record, so if the Adamas does arrive and tempts you, run it through our depreciation calculator before you commit. If Rox or an Australian distributor makes an official announcement, we'll add it with the source.
Disclaimer: This article is based on carsales, "Rox Motor confirmed for Australia", 23 October 2026, which relays a message from YHC Technology, a China-based marketing agency working on Rox Motor's international campaigns, and on CarExpert's report of 26 February 2026. The Australian timing, the possible launch event, the Adamas being the likely first model, its specifications and range, the camping equipment, the emergency toilet and the UAE price are as reported by those outlets and describe overseas vehicles, not Australian specifications. The timing comes from a marketing agency, not from Rox Motor or an Australian distributor, and we haven't seen a statement from either. The UAE figure is UAE pricing only and is not an Australian price. We hold no ANCAP rating for any Rox. Confirm price, specification, safety rating and availability with an official Australian distributor once one is named.
