The 2026 Chery E5 Ultimate is a practical five-seat electric SUV that suits buyers after affordable EV motoring without compromising on safety. It delivers a solid 430km driving range on a single charge, so you won't be hunting for chargers constantly. Just keep in mind Chery lists only a 750kg unbraked trailer rating and no braked towing figure for it, which might matter if you've got a boat or trailer in your plans.
Configure the UltimateThe MY25.5 Chery E5 Urban is the entry grade of Chery Australia's electric small SUV, with a 155 kW / 288 Nm permanent-magnet synchronous motor driving the front wheels through a reduction gear. A 58.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery gives a quoted 430 km of WLTP range (505 km on the NEDC/ADR 81/02 cycle), and DC charging from 30 to 80 per cent takes about 30 minutes on a 130 kW charger. It carries a 19-litre front storage compartment that the Ultimate loses to its heat pump, 300 litres behind the rear seats and 1,079 litres with them folded. Tare mass is 1,776 kg and the car rides on 18-inch alloys with a full-size spare.
Configure the UrbanThe MY25.5 Chery E5 Ultimate tops the electric small SUV range, sharing the 155 kW / 288 Nm front-mounted permanent-magnet motor and 58.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery with the Urban for a quoted 430 km WLTP range (505 km NEDC/ADR 81/02). Over the Urban it gains a heat pump, a 360-degree around view monitor, powered and heated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, a heated steering wheel, colour selectable ambient lighting, an eight-speaker Sony system, 50W wireless charging, a power sunroof with retractable sunshade, acoustic front glass, privacy glass and a power tailgate. It gives up the Urban's 19-litre frunk, which the heat pump occupies, and carries a 1,776 kg tare mass on 18-inch alloys.
Configure the UltimateThe MY27 Chery E5 is an update to Chery's small electric SUV that Chery Australia lists as coming soon. Chery says it keeps a single electric motor with 155kW and 288Nm and a driving range of up to 430km on the WLTP test. The changes Chery lists are in the cabin: the centre screen grows from 12.3 to 15.6 inches, the driver's seat gains four-way lumbar support, massage and ventilation, and the front passenger seat moves from four-way to six-way power adjustment and gains ventilation. It also adds an electrically operated charging-port cover, an active grille shutter and an auto-dimming interior mirror. Chery's announcement also lists 18-inch alloy wheels, wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Hello Chery voice control, an eight-speaker sound system, synthetic leather seats, heated front seats and dual-zone climate control. Chery Australia has not yet announced a price, the grades, an arrival date, battery size, charging figures, dimensions or warranty terms for the MY27 car, so CarSorted lists none of them until it does. There is no ANCAP rating for the MY27 E5 in our data.
