The 2026 Chery Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid Urban is the value entry to Chery's plug-in hybrid mid-size SUV in Australia. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol four produces 105kW and 215Nm and pairs to a 150kW / 310Nm electric motor through an 1-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission, driven by an 18.4kWh LiFePO4 battery. Chery claims 93km of NEDC EV-only range and 1.4L/100km combined fuel use — the kind of numbers that turn the daily commute fully electric while still letting you drive Sydney to Melbourne on petrol. CCS2 DC fast-charging and a 6.6kW Type 2 AC port are both standard. Inside, Urban gets synthetic leather seats, a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six-speaker audio, 6-way power driver's seat, 4-way manual passenger seat, dual-zone climate, and Chery's full Hello Chery voice assistant. Active safety is comprehensive: AEB with pedestrian and cyclist detection plus junction-and-crossing, lane-keep, blind-spot with rear cross-traffic alert and rear cross-traffic braking, adaptive cruise with traffic-jam assist, driver monitoring, and a centre airbag (6 airbags total including driver knee). ANCAP rates the lineup 5 stars under the 2023-2025 protocol. Trade-offs vs the Ultimate: no 360-degree camera, no panoramic sunroof, no power-folding mirrors, no heated or ventilated seats, six speakers instead of the 8-speaker Sony system, and no wireless charging pad. Warranty is 7-year unlimited km plus 8-year unlimited km on the battery. Natural cross-shops include the GWM Haval H6 GT Hi4 PHEV and the BYD Sealion 6.
Configure the UrbanThe 2026 Chery Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid Ultimate is the flagship plug-in hybrid Tiggo 7. Drivetrain is identical to the Urban — 1.5-litre turbo petrol (105kW/215Nm) plus 150kW/310Nm e-motor on an 1-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission, 18.4kWh LiFePO4 battery, 93km NEDC EV range, 1.4L/100km combined, CCS2 DC fast charging. The Ultimate's $4,000 premium over the Urban buys a serious equipment uplift: 8-speaker Sony premium audio, 360-degree around-view monitor, front parking sensors, panoramic sunroof with power sunshade, power tailgate, power-folding and auto-dimming heated mirrors, wireless 50W phone charger, ventilated and heated front seats, memory function for the driver's seat, 4-way power passenger seat, colour-selectable ambient lighting, rear privacy glass, LED puddle lights, machined alloy 18-inch wheels (Urban gets dark matte), and powered child safety locks. Active safety is the same comprehensive package as the Urban (AEB with pedestrian/cyclist/junction, blind-spot with rear cross-traffic alert and braking, adaptive cruise with traffic-jam assist, lane-keep, driver monitoring, centre and driver knee airbags). ANCAP rates the Tiggo 7 lineup 5 stars under the 2023-2025 protocol (AOP 82%, COP 86%, VRU 80%, SA 82%). Warranty is 7-year unlimited km plus 8-year on the battery. Cross-shops include the GWM Haval H6 GT Hi4 PHEV Ultra and the BYD Sealion 6 Premium.
