The Geely Starray EM-i Inspire AWD is the all-wheel-drive version of Geely's plug-in hybrid mid-size SUV. It adds an 80kW/150Nm rear electric motor to the front-drive car's 160kW/262Nm front motor and 1.5-litre petrol engine, which cuts the claimed 0-100km/h time to 6.3 seconds. It uses the 29.8kWh LFP battery and a 60-litre fuel tank, and Geely quotes 130km of electric-only range, 1,065km of combined range and 1.7L/100km, all on the WLTP cycle. Equipment matches the Inspire: panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, head-up display, heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, 16-speaker Flyme Sound audio, surround-view monitor and 19-inch alloys, plus Snow and Off-road drive modes. The trade-off is boot space: 456 litres with the floor lowered against 528 litres in the front-drive cars. Geely lists it at $44,990 before on-road costs, with a 7-year unlimited-km warranty for private buyers.
