The 2026 Kia EV9 Air RWD is a practical three-row electric SUV that suits Australian families needing genuine seven-seat capacity and a 519km driving range on a single charge, backed by a seven-year warranty and 5-star ANCAP safety rating. Its standout strength is the exceptional value proposition, delivering 160kW of power, 2500kg towing capacity and just $1677 annual running costs without breaking the bank for mid-size EV buyers. The one consideration is that rear-wheel drive on a vehicle of this size (2312kg) means you'll want to be mindful of traction in wet conditions, though Kia's stability systems should manage this well in normal Australian driving.
Configure the Air RWDThe 2026 Kia EV9 Earth AWD is a three-row electric SUV that suits families needing seven genuine seats and practical electric motoring, with its 519km driving range covering most Australian daily commutes and road trips comfortably. Its standout strength is the combination of 283kW and 700Nm torque delivering responsive performance, paired with 2500kg towing capacity-rare for an electric SUV in this category-and comprehensive peace-of-mind coverage including a seven-year warranty and five-star ANCAP safety rating. The main consideration is the 333-litre boot space, which is modest when all seven seats are occupied, so buyers regularly carrying bulky cargo with full occupancy should test the configuration beforehand.
Configure the Earth AWDThe 2026 Kia EV9 GT-Line AWD is a three-row electric SUV that suits families needing seven seats and genuine towing capacity, offering 283kW, 700Nm, a 519km driving range, and 2500kg towing capability backed by a seven-year warranty. Its standout strength is the combination of practicality-333 litres of boot space plus 5-star ANCAP safety-with genuine performance and an estimated $1677 annual running cost that significantly undercuts petrol equivalents. The main consideration is that at 2636kg, charging infrastructure and trip planning remain critical, particularly for regional Australian travel beyond its claimed range.
Configure the GT-Line AWDThe Kia EV9 GT is the flagship performance variant of Kia's seven-seat (here six-seat) electric SUV, and at $129,250 before on-road costs it is the most expensive Kia ever sold in Australia. A retuned dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup lifts outputs to 374kW and 740Nm, enough to fire the 2.7-tonne SUV from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds, making it the quickest seven-seat-platform vehicle on sale here. It keeps the 99.8kWh battery and 510km WLTP range of the GT-Line, plus 240kW DC fast charging for a 10-80% top-up in around 24 minutes. The GT adds Electronic Controlled Suspension tuned through a local ride-and-handling program, 21-inch alloys, a digital LED grille and second-row captain's chairs with massage. It is configured as a six-seater in Australia and retains the EV9's 2500kg braked towing capacity.

Skoda Australia has confirmed the Scala will not carry into MY27, so remaining MY26 stock is the last shot at a new Czech-built small hatch here. The 85TSI Select stays at $33,990 driveaway with an 85kW 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo, 5.4 L/100km and a 10.1-second 0 to 100km/h. The 110TSI Monte Carlo holds at $45,990 driveaway with a 110kW 1.5-litre turbo, 5.2 L/100km and an 8.2-second sprint. Both are seven-speed DSG and front-wheel drive. Just 59 Scalas were registered YTD 2026, with two units in June alone, down 88 per cent for the month and 22.4 per cent for the year. Rivals in the small hatch bracket ran much stronger: Toyota Corolla 7,314, Kia K4 4,467 (up 67.7 per cent) and Mazda 3 4,080. The smaller Skoda Fabia continues into MY27, as do the Kamiq, Karoq, Kodiaq, Octavia and Superb, with the Elroq and Enyaq EVs incoming. Five-star ANCAP from 2019 still applies to Australian cars sold from February 2021 (97/87/81/76 pillar scores). Skoda's seven-year warranty and capped-price servicing carry over on the run-out cars.

Kia Australia locks in a new AWD flagship on the EV3 small electric SUV. GT-Line AWD Long Range $66,490 before on-roads, $2,540 above the FWD GT-Line. Second motor at the rear pushes combined system output to 195kW/385Nm and cuts the 0 to 100km/h claim from 7.9 to 6.6 seconds. Same 81.4kWh Long Range battery as the rest of the line, WLTP range 559km, only 4km behind the FWD car. Upsized front and rear brakes plus a bespoke local suspension and steering tune sit on top of the standard Australian ride and handling program. Standard kit unchanged from the FWD GT-Line: 19-inch alloys, sunroof, synthetic leather trim, 10-way power driver's seat with memory, heated and ventilated front seats, heated wheel, dual-zone climate, dual 12.3-inch displays plus a 5-inch climate strip, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Harman Kardon audio and satellite navigation. 5-star ANCAP under the 2023 to 2025 protocol carries across from the FWD variants. Sits inside the fuel-efficient LCT threshold so the FBT novated-lease exemption still applies. 7-year unlimited-km vehicle warranty and 7-year/150,000km battery cover. First customer deliveries and dealer arrivals from September 2026.
