The 2026 MG S6 EV Essence RWD is a mid-size electric SUV that undercuts the Tesla Model Y and BYD Sealion 7 while offering more range than most rivals at the price. A single rear motor delivers 180kW and 350Nm for a 7.3-second 0-100km/h, and the 77kWh NCM battery is good for up to 530km WLTP, with 144kW DC charging covering 10-80% in about 38 minutes. Standard kit is strong: an 11-speaker audio with subwoofer, head-up display, a 12.8-inch screen, heated and ventilated front seats, vehicle-to-load and a 1,500kg braked tow rating. MG had not published an ANCAP rating at launch, and the panoramic glass roof is reserved for the AWD.
Configure the Essence RWDThe 2026 MG S6 EV Essence AWD is the dual-motor flagship of MG's mid-size electric SUV, pairing a front induction motor with a rear permanent-magnet unit for 266kW and 540Nm and a brisk 5.1-second 0-100km/h. The same 77kWh battery returns up to 485km WLTP, with 144kW DC charging. Over the RWD it adds the front motor, a panoramic glass roof with electric sunshade, and a small frunk, while keeping the 11-speaker audio, head-up display, heated and ventilated seats, vehicle-to-load and 1,500kg braked towing. It still slides under $60,000 drive-away, though the extra performance trims range slightly and ANCAP had not rated it at launch.
