The 2026 Toyota GR Supra GT is a lightweight, two-seat sports coupe powered by a turbocharged 3.0-litre petrol engine producing 285kW and 500Nm, making it ideal for Australian drivers who prioritise driving engagement and track capability without the complexity of hybrid or electric drivetrains. Its standout strength is the combination of sharp handling courtesy of a 1525kg kerb weight paired with genuine everyday usability-the 174-litre boot accommodates weekend gear, it achieves a respectable 7.7L/100km fuel consumption, and it carries a comprehensive five-year warranty. The key consideration is running costs of around $3056 annually, which is reasonable for a performance car but worth factoring in alongside enthusiast maintenance expectations for a specialised, lower-volume sports car.

The GR Supra GT Manual pairs the 285kW 3.0-litre turbo straight-six with a six-speed manual gearbox featuring rev-matching on up and down shifts, for drivers who want to row their own gears in the entry grade. It is the lightest GR Supra at 1500kg kerb, though the manual trades a little outright pace, doing 0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds versus the auto's 4.1. Fuel use rises to 9.1L/100km combined and CO2 to 209g/km against the more efficient automatic.

The GR Supra GTS Manual adds 19-inch wheels, a 12-speaker JBL audio system and uprated brakes to the six-speed manual driveline, making it the best-equipped manual short of the Track Edition. Like all manual Supras it uses the 285kW/500Nm turbo six and a rev-matching gearbox, reaching 100km/h in 4.4 seconds. The manual is lighter than the automatic at 1500kg but uses more fuel at 9.1L/100km combined with 209g/km CO2.

The 2026 Toyota GR Supra GTS is a two-seat sports coupe powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 285kW and 500Nm, ideal for driving enthusiasts seeking genuine performance without the complexity of hybrid or electric powertrains. Its standout strength is the combination of lightweight construction at 1525kg and rear-wheel-drive dynamics, delivering responsive handling while returning a respectable 7.7L/100km fuel consumption for this class. One consideration: the 174-litre boot is genuinely small, so daily usability relies on minimalist packing or a second vehicle for larger cargo needs.

The GR Supra Track Edition Manual is the most focused manual Supra, adding a carbon fibre rear spoiler, specially tuned suspension, larger 374mm front brakes and a Track Edition exclusive differential control map to the six-speed manual driveline. It shares the 285kW/500Nm turbo six and rev-matching gearbox with the rest of the manual range, with a 4.4-second 0-100km/h claim. Toyota Australia lists the manual at 1500kg kerb and 9.1L/100km combined with 209g/km CO2.

The 2026 GR Supra Track Edition is a lightweight, two-seater performance coupe powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivering 285kW and 500Nm, making it ideal for driving enthusiasts who prioritise thrilling on-road dynamics and occasional track work. Its standout strength is the combination of sharp handling through a 1525kg curb weight paired with a 7.7L/100km fuel consumption figure that's impressive for its 285kW output, translating to reasonable running costs around $3056 annually. The main consideration is its minimal practicality-the 174-litre boot and two-seat layout mean it's purely a recreational sports car rather than an everyday companion, though Toyota's five-year warranty and five-star ANCAP rating provide reassurance on reliability and safety.

Skoda Scala Axed in Australia: MY26 Stock Is the Last of the Czech Hatch

Skoda Australia has confirmed the Scala will not carry into MY27, so remaining MY26 stock is the last shot at a new Czech-built small hatch here. The 85TSI Select stays at $33,990 driveaway with an 85kW 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo, 5.4 L/100km and a 10.1-second 0 to 100km/h. The 110TSI Monte Carlo holds at $45,990 driveaway with a 110kW 1.5-litre turbo, 5.2 L/100km and an 8.2-second sprint. Both are seven-speed DSG and front-wheel drive. Just 59 Scalas were registered YTD 2026, with two units in June alone, down 88 per cent for the month and 22.4 per cent for the year. Rivals in the small hatch bracket ran much stronger: Toyota Corolla 7,314, Kia K4 4,467 (up 67.7 per cent) and Mazda 3 4,080. The smaller Skoda Fabia continues into MY27, as do the Kamiq, Karoq, Kodiaq, Octavia and Superb, with the Elroq and Enyaq EVs incoming. Five-star ANCAP from 2019 still applies to Australian cars sold from February 2021 (97/87/81/76 pillar scores). Skoda's seven-year warranty and capped-price servicing carry over on the run-out cars.
