The 2026 Kia EV4 is a mid-size electric sedan that ticks the boxes for buyers wanting a practical family car without the petrol pump visits. It's got a seriously impressive 633km driving range, which puts it ahead of most rivals at this price point and makes longer trips genuinely doable. The main thing to know is that the interior feels a bit tight compared to petrol sedans of similar size, so check if the rear legroom works for your family before committing.

The EV4 Air is the entry grade of Kia's electric sedan in Australia, using the smaller 58.3 kWh battery for up to 456 km of WLTP range. It keeps the same 150 kW / 283 Nm front-drive motor as the dearer Earth and GT-Line, so it is no slower in town, getting to 100 km/h in about 7.4 seconds. The trade-off is range and charging: the 58.3 kWh pack tops up 10-80 percent in around 29 minutes on a 350 kW DC charger, and the 11 kW onboard charger handles AC. It is the value pick for buyers who do not need the long-range pack's extra distance.

FAQ

Kia EV4 — frequently asked questions

The most common buyer questions, answered straight from the spec sheet.

The EV4 claims 630 km on the WLTP cycle with its 81.4 kWh battery, which is genuinely competitive with a mid-size petrol sedan's fuel range. Real-world range will vary by 10–20% depending on driving style, temperature, and terrain; highway driving at speed will eat into that figure more than city driving. For most Australian commutes and weekend trips, you're looking at realistic usable range of around 500–550 km before needing to recharge.
