The Megane E-Tech is back on Renault's order books, and it's come back as one car. The updated electric hatch is sold in Australia in a single grade, the esprit Alpine, with a bigger 67kWh battery and a claimed 480km on the WLTP cycle. Renault Australia announced it at $55,990 before on-road costs, and the deposit button is live on Renault's website now.
One thing worth knowing before you go looking for that $55,990: Renault's own model page shows the car as POA, and its configurator prices it drive-away by postcode. So the list price below is the figure Renault gave media, and the drive-away figures are the ones Renault's configurator printed when we entered a postcode.
2027 Renault Megane E-Tech Price
| Electric | Before on-road costs (announced) | Drive-away, 3000 (MRDP) | Drive-away, 2000 (MRDP) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Megane E-Tech esprit Alpine, EV67 160kW | $55,990 | $60,652.70 | $60,387.21 |
Before on-road costs: Renault Australia's announced price, as reported 28 October 2026. Drive-away: Renault's Manufacturer's Recommended Drive Away Price on renault.com.au, read 30 October 2026, for a private buyer (rating-one driver aged 40, standard plates) in Flame Red with no options, at the dealer the configurator chose (Essendon Renault for 3000, Chatswood Renault for 2000). Your dealer confirms the final price.
Paint is where the options sit. Flame Red adds nothing on the configurator; the other metallics (Diamond Black, Night Blue, Shadow Grey) are $900, the two-tone metallics with a black or grey roof are $1,100, and the two matte finishes with a Diamond Black roof (Shadow Grey and Slate Blue) are $1,300.
What's Changed: Then and Now
Both columns come from Renault Australia's own pages: the outgoing Megane E-Tech page and the new one.
| Renault Australia figure | Outgoing Megane E-Tech | 2027 esprit Alpine |
|---|---|---|
| Battery | 60kWh | 67kWh |
| Range (WLTP) | 454km | Up to 480km |
| Motor | 160kW / 300Nm | 160kW / 300Nm |
| DC charge, 15 to 80% on a 130kW charger | As little as 35 min | About 24 min |
| Screens | 9-inch touchscreen, 12-inch driver display | Twin 12-inch openR, Google built-in |
| Vehicle-to-load (V2L) | Not listed on Renault's page | Yes |
| 0 to 100km/h | 7.4 sec | Not published by Renault Australia |
The range gain is 26km on paper. The bigger day-to-day change is charging time: Renault quotes about 24 minutes from 15 to 80 per cent on a 130kW DC charger, against as little as 35 minutes for the outgoing car on the same class of charger. If you mostly charge at home overnight, that matters less than it does on a highway run.

What the esprit Alpine Comes With
Renault Australia lists these as the esprit Alpine's key features:
- 67kWh battery and 480km WLTP range
- 160kW and 300Nm electric motor
- 20-inch "speedway" black diamond-cut alloy wheels
- Alpine styling accents
- openR link 12-inch multimedia with Google built-in
- Harman Kardon audio (Renault quotes nine speakers)
- Six-way electric front seats, with a massage function for the driver
Elsewhere on the page, Renault also lists vehicle-to-load (V2L) for powering devices, adaptive cruise control, an occupant exit alert, a 3D 360-degree camera, driver recognition that remembers settings like seat, mirrors and audio, and a 440-litre boot. The infotainment runs Google Maps with electric route planning and Google Gemini voice control, with My Renault connected services provided at no charge for five years from delivery, per Renault's footnote.

The Deposit Offer and the Wait
Renault is attaching a launch offer to online deposits. Private buyers who place a $200 deposit at renault.com.au by 31 December 2026, then complete the purchase and take delivery, receive a FoxESS L-Series 7kW EV charger valued at $749 RRP. The charger is supplied without installation, which is at your cost and needs a licensed electrician. Fleet, government and rental buyers are excluded, and a deposit doesn't guarantee a car.
On timing, Renault told media to expect showroom arrivals between January and June 2027. Its own deposit terms are more cautious, warning that production and delivery lead times of up to 12 months apply. Read those two together before you plan around a delivery date.
Our Take
Renault has simplified the Megane E-Tech to one well-equipped grade, with more battery, more range and quicker DC charging than the car it replaces. The price you'll actually pay is the drive-away figure for your postcode, so run it on Renault's configurator and compare it with the dealer's written quote.
Our 2027 Megane E-Tech esprit Alpine listing carries the car while it's on order, and the outgoing Megane E-Tech is there for a side-by-side. The rest of the range sits on our Renault page.
