The M9 Premium is BYD's seven-seat plug-in hybrid people mover and, on 1 October 2026, the only M9 grade BYD Australia offers in its Build & Price order flow, at $72,990 before on-road costs with deliveries estimated for October 2026. It uses BYD's DM-i system: a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 200kW front motor for a combined 218kW and 315Nm, driving the front wheels, with a 36.6kWh Blade LFP battery good for 145km of WLTP electric range. BYD quotes 7.3L/100km once the battery reaches its critical charge level, 0-100km/h in 8.5 seconds, 73kW DC charging and 6kW vehicle-to-load. The 5,145mm body seats seven in a 2+2+3 layout with powered sliding rear doors, a 15.6-inch ceiling screen, heated, ventilated and massaging second-row seats with leg rests, and a 470-litre boot behind the third row. Kerb weight is 2,650kg against a 3,274kg GVM, and braked towing is 1,500kg. ANCAP: no data.

The BYD M9 Dynamic is the second grade of BYD's M9 plug-in hybrid people mover. BYD Australia lists it as coming soon, in a 2+3+3 seating configuration, with a Register Interest link rather than an order button. BYD has not yet published a specification sheet or a price for the Dynamic, and its M9 page says the performance figures it shows are for the Premium only and that other grades will differ. What is on the public record comes from the Green Vehicle Guide, which lists the M9 Dynamic Wagon Auto (released 2026) with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol plug-in hybrid system, a single-speed automatic and two-wheel drive, 20g/km of CO2, 192Wh/km of energy consumption and 80km of electric range on the WLTP test, to the Euro 6d standard. BYD's page quotes the Dynamic at 2.7L/100km at a high state of charge, the same figure the Green Vehicle Guide records. BYD states an M9 warranty of six years or 150,000km, with eight years or 160,000km on the traction battery.
