The Ineos Grenadier Station Wagon is a purpose-built body-on-frame 4WD designed from a blank sheet to replace the original Land Rover Defender. The standard diesel sits at $105,000 list and uses a BMW-sourced 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six diesel (183kW/550Nm) paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic and a permanent 4WD system with a Tremec 2-speed transfer case and electronically lockable centre, front and rear differentials. Ground clearance is 264mm, wading depth 800mm and braked towing is the full 3,500kg. Built at the former Smart factory in Hambach, France, and backed by a 5-year unlimited-km warranty with 5 years of roadside assistance.
