The 2026 Kia Seltos S is a five-seat petrol SUV designed for budget-conscious Australian families seeking practicality without premium pricing. Its standout strength is the impressive seven-year warranty and five-star ANCAP safety rating, providing genuine peace of mind-combined with reasonable fuel consumption of 6.9L/100km and modest annual running costs, it delivers solid value. One thing to consider: the 110kW 2.0-litre engine is modest by segment standards, so you'll want to test-drive to confirm the acceleration suits your driving style, though the 312-litre boot and 1500kg towing capacity handle everyday family duties competently.

The 2026 Kia Seltos Sport is a compact petrol SUV designed for budget-conscious Australian families wanting practical everyday transport with genuine safety credentials-its 5-star ANCAP rating and 7-year warranty provide confidence that larger rivals don't always match at this price point. The standout strength is its genuine value proposition: a 2-litre petrol engine delivering 110kW with respectable fuel economy of 6.9L/100km, combined with a spacious 312-litre boot and 1500kg towing capacity that punches above its weight class. One thing to consider is that the naturally aspirated 2-litre engine means it won't feel particularly quick when fully loaded or on steep grades, so acceleration isn't its forte despite decent torque figures of 180Nm.

The 2026 Kia Seltos Sport+ is a compact petrol SUV ideal for Australian families seeking affordable everyday transport, offering five seats, 312 litres of boot space, and genuine 1500kg towing capacity for weekend getaways. Its standout strength is safety, with a 5-star ANCAP rating and Kia's comprehensive 7-year warranty providing peace of mind that's rare in this segment. The main consideration is the 2.0-litre engine's modest 110kW output, which means it won't feel spirited in heavy traffic, though the 6.9L/100km fuel efficiency helps offset the estimated $2874 annual running costs.

The 2026 Kia Seltos GT-Line AWD is a compact SUV built for Australian families and active buyers who want all-wheel drive capability without sacrificing fuel economy, seating five with a 312-litre boot and 1500kg towing capacity. Its standout strength is the combination of a frugal 1.6-litre petrol engine (146kW/265Nm) that returns 7.4L/100km paired with genuine AWD traction, backed by a reassuring 5-star ANCAP safety rating and seven-year warranty. The main consideration is that running costs around $3031 annually and the modest 146kW power output mean this prioritises efficiency and practicality over performance, so it's better suited to buyers valuing real-world economy and dependability than driving excitement.

Skoda Scala Axed in Australia: MY26 Stock Is the Last of the Czech Hatch

Skoda Australia has confirmed the Scala will not carry into MY27, so remaining MY26 stock is the last shot at a new Czech-built small hatch here. The 85TSI Select stays at $33,990 driveaway with an 85kW 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo, 5.4 L/100km and a 10.1-second 0 to 100km/h. The 110TSI Monte Carlo holds at $45,990 driveaway with a 110kW 1.5-litre turbo, 5.2 L/100km and an 8.2-second sprint. Both are seven-speed DSG and front-wheel drive. Just 59 Scalas were registered YTD 2026, with two units in June alone, down 88 per cent for the month and 22.4 per cent for the year. Rivals in the small hatch bracket ran much stronger: Toyota Corolla 7,314, Kia K4 4,467 (up 67.7 per cent) and Mazda 3 4,080. The smaller Skoda Fabia continues into MY27, as do the Kamiq, Karoq, Kodiaq, Octavia and Superb, with the Elroq and Enyaq EVs incoming. Five-star ANCAP from 2019 still applies to Australian cars sold from February 2021 (97/87/81/76 pillar scores). Skoda's seven-year warranty and capped-price servicing carry over on the run-out cars.

2027 Kia EV3 GT-Line AWD Priced for Australia: Dual-Motor Flagship Lands at $66,490, 559km WLTP and 6.6-Second 0-100

Kia Australia locks in a new AWD flagship on the EV3 small electric SUV. GT-Line AWD Long Range $66,490 before on-roads, $2,540 above the FWD GT-Line. Second motor at the rear pushes combined system output to 195kW/385Nm and cuts the 0 to 100km/h claim from 7.9 to 6.6 seconds. Same 81.4kWh Long Range battery as the rest of the line, WLTP range 559km, only 4km behind the FWD car. Upsized front and rear brakes plus a bespoke local suspension and steering tune sit on top of the standard Australian ride and handling program. Standard kit unchanged from the FWD GT-Line: 19-inch alloys, sunroof, synthetic leather trim, 10-way power driver's seat with memory, heated and ventilated front seats, heated wheel, dual-zone climate, dual 12.3-inch displays plus a 5-inch climate strip, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Harman Kardon audio and satellite navigation. 5-star ANCAP under the 2023 to 2025 protocol carries across from the FWD variants. Sits inside the fuel-efficient LCT threshold so the FBT novated-lease exemption still applies. 7-year unlimited-km vehicle warranty and 7-year/150,000km battery cover. First customer deliveries and dealer arrivals from September 2026.
