If you drive for Uber and you're shopping for a new car, Omoda Jaecoo now has a page just for you. It offers eligible Uber drivers up to 15% off the Jaecoo J5 and Jaecoo J7, and up to 12% off the Omoda 9 SHS. You don't see the final number online: you fill in a "Request my tailored offer" form and a participating dealer comes back with it.
We went looking for the same kind of deal from other car makers and from the rideshare apps themselves. Here's what each one prints on its own Australian site.
The Omoda Jaecoo Uber Offer
| Model | Powertrains listed | Uber offer |
|---|---|---|
| Jaecoo J5 (small SUV) | Petrol, EV, SHS-H hybrid | Up to 15% |
| Jaecoo J7 (medium SUV) | Petrol, SHS-P plug-in hybrid | Up to 15% |
| Omoda 9 (large SUV) | SHS-P plug-in hybrid | Up to 12% |
The page's opening line says savings run "up to 17%" across selected models, but none of the three model tiles shows 17%, and the fine print says up to 15%. We've gone with the per-model figures.
The asterisk does a lot of work. The offer is only for Uber Pro Gold, Platinum and Diamond tier driver-partners and delivery people at the time you buy or sign. Blue tier drivers miss out, and you have to log into the Uber Driver app to show your tier before you take the offer. Savings vary by model and grade and come off the vehicle price only, so government charges, dealer delivery, options and other on-road costs may still apply. It's also subject to dealer participation.
There's no end date. Omoda Jaecoo says it can change, extend or withdraw the offer with 30 days' notice. The page also tells you to confirm warranty coverage for your intended use with the dealer, which is worth doing for any car that will spend its life carrying paying passengers.
Because the percentage depends on the grade and doesn't touch on-road costs, we haven't turned it into dollar figures. The current grades and prices are on each car page: J5 Track, J5 Hybrid Summit, J5 EV Summit, J7 SHS Track and Omoda 9 SHS.
Separately, Omoda Jaecoo's fleet page lists "Rental and Rideshare Companies" under its government and rental pricing. That's for businesses running fleets, not individual drivers, and it doesn't print a figure.
Who Else Runs a Rideshare Offer?
On 16 October 2026 we checked the home, offers and fleet pages of 15 other makers' Australian sites, and searched the site maps of every maker whose offers we track, for anything aimed at Uber, DiDi or rideshare drivers.
| Maker | What its Australian site shows |
|---|---|
| Omoda Jaecoo | Uber driver offer, up to 15% (J5, J7) or 12% (Omoda 9) |
| Tesla | Rideshare loan through Driva, not a discount |
| Nissan | Fleet channel for rideshare and rental companies, no figure |
| BYD, MG, GWM, Chery, Kia, Hyundai, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Geely, Leapmotor, XPeng, Deepal, Polestar | Nothing for rideshare drivers |
Tesla's homepage advertises "Rideshare Loans" from $237 a week on a Model Y and $187 a week on a Model 3. Tesla's footnotes say those are illustrative, based on a Rear-Wheel Drive car, a rate from 7.40%, a 30% residual and a 60-month term, with finance arranged by Driva and subject to approval. That's a loan product for rideshare use, not money off the car.
Nissan's fleet page lists "Rideshare, short and long term rental vehicle providers" as one of its fleet categories, with a fleet team to contact. It reads as a channel for companies that supply cars to drivers rather than an offer to drivers themselves.
Uber and BYD announced a global partnership in 2024 that was reported to include Australia at a later stage. BYD's Australian site doesn't show a driver offer today. Individual dealers sometimes run their own rideshare deals too; those are dealer offers, so we haven't listed them here.
What the Rideshare Apps Offer
Uber Australia's Vehicle Marketplace page connects drivers with rental, rent-to-own, leasing and finance providers. Uber says the offers listed there come from those companies, not from Uber, and the listings themselves sit behind a driver login, so we couldn't check them.
DiDi's Australian driver page lists tyre discounts at Tyresales, fuel discounts at 7-Eleven and maintenance discounts at Ultra Tune, but no new-car offer. Ola closed its Australian rideshare service in April 2024.
What This Means for Drivers
If you're on Uber Pro Gold or above and a small or medium SUV suits your work, the Jaecoo offer is the only maker-run rideshare discount we found on an Australian maker's site. Ask the dealer for the saving on the exact grade in writing, check what the drive-away price is once on-roads are added, and confirm how the warranty treats rideshare use.
You can line the eligible cars up against each other on our Jaecoo page, and check Uber's own vehicle requirements for your city before you buy.
Disclaimer: The Omoda Jaecoo offer is from Omoda Jaecoo Australia's Uber offer page as at 16 October 2026: up to 15% (J5, J7) or 12% (Omoda 9), for Uber Pro Gold, Platinum and Diamond driver-partners only, on the vehicle price only, subject to verification, dealer participation and full terms, and changeable with 30 days' notice. Tesla's rideshare loan figures are Tesla's illustrative examples and are not an offer of credit. Other makers were checked on their own Australian sites on 16 October 2026. Details correct as at 16 October 2026.
