Key Takeaways

  • Mazda Australia has an EV Driveaway Offer running on every grade of both electric cars, live on mazda.com.au on 1 October 2026
  • 6e GT $52,990 drive-away, 6e Atenza $55,990, CX-6e GT $56,990, CX-6e Azami $59,990
  • Western Australia pays $1,000 more on every grade
  • Mazda has announced no change to list prices. Mazda calls this a Driveaway Offer, not a price cut, and the drive-away figures are $3,000 above list in most states
  • Premium paint is out, the Warm Beige interior is a $1,000 option with its own drive-away figure, and the terms read whilst stocks last with no published end date

Mazda has put both of its electric cars on drive-away deals, and the CX-6e has barely finished landing in showrooms. The offers sit under an "Electric Vehicle Driveaway Offers" banner on mazda.com.au, and the model pages carry them on all four grades, both 6e liftbacks and both CX-6e SUVs. CarsGuide reported it on 29 September as a price cut. It is worth being precise, because the two things behave very differently in a dealership.

The Prices

One powertrain across the whole lot, a single rear-mounted 190kW / 290Nm motor and a 78kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, so this is one group with Mazda's list price beside the new drive-away figure.

Mazda 6e and CX-6e, battery electric, 190kW rear-wheel drive
GradeList (MLP, excl. on-roads)Offer, drive-awayOffer, drive-away (WA)
Mazda 6e E35 GT$49,990$52,990$53,990
Mazda 6e E35 Atenza$52,990$55,990$56,990
Mazda CX-6e E35 GT$53,990$56,990$57,990
Mazda CX-6e E35 Azami$56,990$59,990$60,990

The drive-away column applies in the ACT, New South Wales, the Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria, with Western Australia $1,000 higher on every grade. Mazda's terms say the figures include 12 months registration, 12 months CTP, stamp duty, other applicable statutory charges, and dealer delivery and administration charges. Premium paint is out. The Warm Beige interior is a $1,000 option (GT only on the 6e) with its own drive-away line: $53,990 on a 6e GT, $57,990 on a CX-6e GT, $60,990 on a CX-6e Azami, again a thousand higher in WA.

This Caps Your On-Roads, It Does Not Cut the Sticker

Mazda's own words are "Driveaway Offer", and Mazda has announced no change to the list prices behind it since launch: 6e GT $49,990 and Atenza $52,990 from the February pricing release, CX-6e GT $53,990 and Azami $56,990 from the April one. Nothing in Mazda's material calls this a reduction, and a cut is only a cut when the maker says it is one.

What has changed is who carries the on-road bill above $3,000. Rego, CTP, stamp duty and delivery on a car in the low fifties are not a flat national number, so the value here varies by postcode. Testing it is boring but quick: get a normal drive-away quote on the grade you want and compare it with the offer figure for your state. If the standard quote is $55,500 on a 6e GT, the offer is worth $2,510 to you. If it is $53,400, it is worth $410.

One warning. Mazda has not published an end date, and the terms read "whilst stocks last" with pricing "subject to change". The grade and colour you want can disappear from the offer well before the offer itself does. Worth checking what else is live on our deals page first, because a capped drive-away and a factory bonus that hands back cash are worth different things to different buyers.

Where the CX-6e Lands Against the Obvious Rival

The CX-6e is the one the offer changes most, because it is brand new, and the obvious rival to measure it against is the Tesla Model Y RWD. Here are both Mazda grades against it on the figures we hold.

Prices here are each car's stored list price excluding on-road costs, not the drive-away offer figures in the table above. We hold no ANCAP rating for either CX-6e grade, so that row reads No data rather than an assumed result. Figures come from our car database, which is built from Australian manufacturer documents. A blank field reads “No data” rather than a zero or a dash.

On list price the CX-6e GT undercuts the Model Y RWD by $4,910, and the gap is wider in practice, because a Model Y buyer still has on-road costs to add while the Mazda's offer figure already includes them. Range goes the Mazda's way too on the WLTP figures we hold, 484km for the CX-6e GT against 466km, though the Azami gives some back on its 21-inch wheels.

If this is going onto a novated lease rather than a cash deal, run your own numbers through the lease calculator before you pick a grade.

Our Take

Two electric Mazdas on offers this early says plenty about how hard this part of the market is, and buyers get the benefit. The CX-6e GT at $56,990 drive-away is the one that will move metal, because it puts a brand-new medium electric SUV on the road, registered and plated, for less than some rivals ask before on-roads are added: on our rows the Zeekr 7X RWD lists at $57,900 and the Kia EV5 Air Long Range FWD at $61,170.

Just read it for what it is. Your saving is the gap between this number and the drive-away quote you would otherwise have been given, not the $3,000 gap between the offer and the list price. Full specs on the 6e GT, 6e Atenza, CX-6e GT and CX-6e Azami pages.

Pricing note: Drive-away figures are Mazda Australia's published EV Driveaway Offers as at 1 October 2026 and exclude premium paint. List prices are Mazda Australia's MLP, excluding on-road costs. Final pricing may vary according to your personal circumstances, and Mazda states the offers are subject to change and apply whilst stocks last. Confirm the figure with a Mazda dealer before you sign.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is the Mazda 6e drive-away right now?
Mazda Australia's EV Driveaway Offers list the 6e GT from $52,990 drive-away and the 6e Atenza from $55,990 drive-away in the ACT, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria. In Western Australia the same two grades are $53,990 and $56,990 drive-away. Mazda's terms say the figures include 12 months registration, 12 months compulsory third party insurance, stamp duty, other applicable statutory charges, and dealer delivery and administration charges.
How much is the Mazda CX-6e drive-away?
The CX-6e GT is listed from $56,990 drive-away and the Azami from $59,990 drive-away in the ACT, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria. Western Australia pays $57,990 and $60,990 for the same two grades.
Is this a price cut on the Mazda 6e and CX-6e?
No. Mazda Australia calls it a Driveaway Offer, and it has announced no change to the list prices behind it. The 6e GT is still $49,990 and the Atenza $52,990, the CX-6e GT is still $53,990 and the Azami $56,990, all before on-road costs. The drive-away figures sit $3,000 above those list prices in most of the country and $4,000 above in Western Australia, which means Mazda is capping the on-road bill rather than discounting the car.
What is excluded from the Mazda EV drive-away offers?
Premium paint is not included, and Mazda's terms state the offers are valid on the named grade only, on selected models across the range, whilst stocks last. The Warm Beige interior trim is a $1,000 option (on the 6e it is offered on the GT only), and Mazda prints a separate drive-away figure for cars fitted with it. Mazda has not published an end date for the offers and says pricing is subject to change, so confirm the figure with the dealer on the day you sign.
What do the Mazda 6e and CX-6e actually give you for the money?
Both use the same drivetrain: a single rear-mounted electric motor making 190kW and 290Nm, fed by a 78kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, with a CCS Type 2 port and a claimed 30 to 80 per cent DC charge in as little as 15 minutes. Mazda quotes up to 560km WLTP for the 6e liftback and up to 484km for the CX-6e SUV. Our row for the CX-6e Azami, which rides on 21-inch wheels, carries 468km.
Does the Mazda 6e have an ANCAP rating?
Our row for both 6e grades carries a five-star ANCAP rating, and Mazda Australia published the result in August 2026. We hold no ANCAP rating for either CX-6e grade, so that one reads as no data on our pages rather than as an assumed inherited score.
