2026 Hyundai Staria Hybrid Priced for Australia: Lounge People Mover $73,740, Load Van From $53,490
Hyundai locks in MY26 Staria pricing with a first-ever hybrid across the passenger and Load van ranges. Staria Lounge Hybrid $73,740, Load Hybrid $53,490 and Load Premium Hybrid $61,240, all before on-roads. New 1.6L turbo-petrol hybrid pushes 180kW/366Nm combined through a six-speed auto to the front wheels, so the AWD lever stays on the retained 2.2L turbo-diesel. Passenger range simplified: Elite and Highlander shelved, Lounge takes over the top with seven Nappa captain-chair seats. Retained 3.5L V6 (200kW) still stands on the base Staria petrol. 2,500kg braked tow rating carries over. A 160kW Staria Load EV is due later in 2026 to chase the Kia PV5 Cargo and Ford E-Transit Custom. ANCAP rating is still 5-star for now with a retest under way as the current certificate nears expiry. Five year unlimited-km vehicle warranty, 8yr/160,000km hybrid battery warranty.
Ford Ranger and Everest 10-Speed Transmission Recall: 2,537 More Aussie Cars Called Back on the 2020 Campaign
Ford Australia has re-notified 2,537 more Ranger and Everest owners on the 2020 REC-000320 campaign for the 10-speed 10R80 transmission fluid pump gear defect. Rangers built 19 December 2017 to 20 September 2019 and Everests built 27 November 2017 to 29 June 2019 are on the list. A software calibration in the Powertrain Control Module and Transmission Control Module can let the transmission fluid pump gears fail on the move, dropping hydraulic pressure and taking drive to the wheels away without warning. The remedy is a free PCM and TCM reflash at any Ford dealer, typically under an hour of workshop time. No parts are swapped, no fluid drained. Ford Customer Service on 13 3673 can update your address if you have moved since 2019. Check REC-000320 on vehiclerecalls.gov.au or ford.com.au/owners/vehicle-support/recall-and-service-action-lookup against your 17-digit VIN. PX3 Ranger and first-generation Everest only, all with the 10R80 auto. Next-Gen T6.2 Ranger, current Everest, PX2, V6 diesel and Ranger Super Duty are not on this campaign.
2026 MINI Cooper S Oxford Edition Confirmed for Australia: Just 40 Cars, 20 Red, 20 Blue, Q4 Landing
MINI Australia locks in the Cooper S Oxford Edition special for a Q4 2026 arrival with a tiny 40-car allocation, split 20 Chilli Red II and 20 Indigo Sunset Blue. Every unit is a Cooper S three-door underneath, so 2.0L turbo petrol, 150kW and 300Nm through a seven-speed DCT to the front wheels, 6.6-second 0 to 100km/h and 242km/h top speed. New Zealand only gets eight cars for context. Union Jack on the contrast white roof, red and white centre stripe, white mirror caps and 18-inch Slide Spoke two-tone alloys with Union Jack centre caps. Interior picks up '25 years of modern MINI' door sill script, Union Jack driver's mat, chequered flag passenger mat and a Union Jack detail on the steering wheel spoke. Australian pricing not confirmed yet, expected to walk $1,500 to $3,000 over the $50,490 Cooper S Classic. ANCAP not yet rated on the F66 hatch.
