The Hunter X PHEV is the flagship Hunter variant at approximately $3,000 above the Pro, adding a panoramic sunroof and electronically-locking front + rear differentials over the entry trim. Same powertrain: 2.0L turbo-petrol + dual electric motors producing a combined 360kW, 31.2kWh battery, 1,005km combined range NEDC, 1.6 L/100km combined, 3,500kg braked towing, 915kg payload. The X is the pick for serious off-roaders who want front-diff-lock capability — a feature normally found only on the GWM Cannon Alpha Ultra ($66,990) or Ineos Quartermaster ($105,000). 7-year unlimited-km warranty.

The JAC Hunter PHEV is the cheapest plug-in-hybrid dual-cab confirmed for Australia, with reservations opening 5 May 2026 ahead of Q3 2026 first deliveries. Pricing 'from under $50,000 plus on-roads' undercuts the BYD Shark 6 Premium ($57,900) and GWM Cannon Alpha Lux PHEV ($52,990) at launch. A 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine pairs with dual electric motors (one front, one rear replacing the tailshaft) for a class-leading 360kW combined output, drawing from a 31.2kWh battery. JAC claims 1,005km combined NEDC range and just 1.6 L/100km combined consumption. Towing is the full 3,500kg braked, payload 915kg. 4WD with front and rear electronic diff locks. 7-year unlimited-km warranty matches JAC's T9 ute. ANCAP not yet tested.
