The 2026 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon is the only Gladiator variant on sale in Australia, and it's pitched as the most capable mid-size ute you can buy off the showroom floor. The 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 makes 209kW and 347Nm, paired to an 8-speed auto and Rock-Trac on-demand 4x4 with Tru-Lok front and rear locking diffs, an electronic sway-bar disconnect, and a 4.0:1 low range. Ground clearance is 249mm, approach angle is 40.7 degrees, and wading depth is 760mm. It tows 2,721kg braked and carries a 681kg payload. Inside, the Rubicon is fully loaded: 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, sat-nav, a 9-speaker Alpine system, Nappa leather seats, heated front seats and steering wheel, 12-way power front seats, adaptive cruise, blind-spot monitoring, and forward collision warning. The downsides are predictable for a body-on-frame off-roader: it's 5.59m long, uses 12.4L/100km on the combined cycle, has no lane-keep assist, and the boxy shape isn't winning any aero awards. But for buyers cross-shopping the LandCruiser 79 or a heavily modified Ranger, the Gladiator Rubicon offers factory-built rock-crawling hardware that's hard to match.
