The 2026 BYD Sealion 7 Performance is a five-seat electric SUV with all-wheel drive and an auto, priced from $63,990 RRP, which is before on-road costs. It runs an 82.6kWh battery with a claimed WLTP range of 456km, uses 21.4kWh/100km and takes DC fast charging at a peak of 150kW. Boot space is 500 litres with the seats up, and it has 390kW of motor output and 690Nm, with a claimed 0-100km/h time of 4.5 seconds. Unbraked towing is 750kg, but we don't have the braked towing capacity on record yet, so check that if you plan to tow anything big. It suits someone after a quick family-sized EV that can handle the school run and longer trips.
